Books for the Blind
The Library has a collection of about 3,700 books and 75 periodicals for the blind.
The Pennsylvania Home Teaching Society and Free Circulating Library for the Blind
supports in this district a teacher, herself totally blind, who, under the direction of this
Library, visits the adult blind in their homes and teaches them to read. This service
and the use of the books are absolutely free to all the adult blind in Pittsburgh and western
Pennsylvania and the Director requests that names and addreses of such persons be
sent to him in order that the teacher may call upon them.
