I. Qualifications<br />
A. Must be able to work effectively with a broad range of Christian churches and organizations.<br />
B. BA degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Public Administration, Ministry or other related<br />
program required. Masters degree preferred. Must have at least 3 years of supervisory and<br />
program/grant management experience.<br />
C. Ability to provide leadership and coordinate the work of a team of <strong>AmeriCorps</strong> Members.<br />
D. Commitment to excellence in services to families, churches, agencies and other community partners.<br />
E. Ability to create an atmosphere of teamwork and commitment among <strong>AmeriCorps</strong> Members, sites,<br />
and church based volunteers.<br />
F. Demonstrated ability and experience in areas such as grant management, training, team building,<br />
program development/management, problem solving, and community building. Ability to analyze needs<br />
and apply resources effectively to meet those needs. Ability to achieve targeted results through<br />
motivating, mobilizing, and delegating to others.<br />
G. Demonstrated ability in the areas of grant writing and grant-related reporting.<br />
H. Demonstrated working knowledge of public and private human service organizations and systems and<br />
church ministry structures.<br />
I. <strong>Good</strong> interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively balance and integrate taskoriented<br />
and process-oriented responsibilities. Ability to work well with diverse populations.<br />
J. Ability to effectively communicate the work of GSM in general and the Faith in Youth Partnership<br />
specifically to a diverse group of pastors, churches, and community groups. Experience in public<br />
speaking helpful.<br />
K. Willingness to participate in continuing education opportunities, seminars, and conferences, and keep<br />
abreast of issues affecting service delivery at GSM.<br />
II.<br />
General Responsibilities<br />
1
Provide overall leadership for Faith in Youth Partnership. Focus is on supporting <strong>AmeriCorps</strong> Members in<br />
providing necessary service to youth serving agencies and churches. Serves on the Leadership and<br />
Management Teams of <strong>Good</strong> <strong>Samaritan</strong> Ministries; represents <strong>Good</strong> <strong>Samaritan</strong> Ministries to funding and<br />
collaborative organizations on issues relating to the Faith in Youth Partnership.<br />
III.<br />
Specific Duties and Responsibilities<br />
1. Recruit, on an annual basis, a team of individuals to serve as <strong>AmeriCorps</strong> Members and<br />
support the Faith in Youth Partnership.<br />
2. Maintain and build trusting relationships with partner churches and community organizations<br />
serving at-risk youth.<br />
3. Develop and coordinate an annual training curriculum for <strong>AmeriCorps</strong> team and for<br />
<strong>AmeriCorps</strong> Members individually.<br />
4. Support the professional and personal growth of the <strong>AmeriCorps</strong> Members.<br />
5. Reviews monthly, quarterly and annual program reports for compliance with grant<br />
expectations and annual goals; and recommends program adjustments and enhancements as<br />
appropriate.<br />
6. Design and deliver an ongoing communication and advancement plan for program<br />
sustainability.<br />
7. Conducts performance reviews and develops professional development plans for all directly<br />
supervised <strong>AmeriCorps</strong> Members.<br />
8. Maintain grant requirements including, quarterly progress reports, monthly and quarterly<br />
financial reports, monthly <strong>Program</strong> <strong>Director</strong> meetings, and required WBRS reporting.<br />
9. Assure activities of <strong>AmeriCorps</strong> Members are in compliance with MCSC and CNCS<br />
regulations.<br />
10. Represents <strong>Good</strong> <strong>Samaritan</strong> Ministries to funding entities and collaborating organizations<br />
IV.<br />
Professional Development<br />
1. Adheres to professional standards of confidentiality at all times; protects the rights of clients<br />
and limits discussion regarding clients, staff and organizational business to appropriate<br />
channels.<br />
2. Seeks out professional level development and learning opportunities by attending workshops,<br />
conferences and classes. Stays apprised of current trends, ideas, theory, techniques, and<br />
knowledge in the human service field. Maintains a working knowledge of local, state, and<br />
national issues affecting human service delivery and the work of GSM.<br />
3. Maintains openness to supervision through periodic meetings and consultation with immediate<br />
supervisor. Attends GSM staff meetings.<br />
4. Attends GSM sponsored/required training and in-service sessions as scheduled. Leads<br />
internal and external training and in-service sessions.<br />
5. Maintains the highest standards of ethical conduct and practice in day to day interaction with<br />
clients and the community.<br />
