5.3 Control of Contaminated Casualties<br />
5.3.1 Do Not Touch Potentially Contaminated Persons Without<br />
Wearing Proper PPE<br />
Bullhorn marshalling is a technique that can be used to communicate with<br />
potential casualties using a portable amplification device or vehicle public<br />
address system. Responders who do not have access to voice amplifying<br />
equipment should:<br />
• keep a distance of approximately 5 metres between themselves and<br />
ambulatory casualties;<br />
• tell casualties not to come closer;<br />
• remain upwind while facing the casualties;<br />
