The <strong>VFM</strong> model is a virtual weather station, not needing any hardware,<br />

power supply or communication lines. This patented technology uses the<br />

powerful algorithms developed by <strong>Boschung</strong> for its forecasting models, and<br />

outputs the most accurate prognostics for a selected location. The local environment<br />

is defined by a series of fixed parameters, and additional real time<br />

information are obtained from other weather stations within the network.<br />

Based on the local characteristics and the weather information deducted<br />

from the other measuring stations, the <strong>VFM</strong> computes the values that a real<br />

weather station would have measured and stores them in the central database.<br />

The main purpose of the <strong>VFM</strong> is to enhance the resolution of the measurement<br />

network<br />
