Flat and light –
The new IMS-F
The new IMS-Flat bed spreaders
impress by a large number of technological
innovations. A typical feature is
its consequent and dimensionally stable
construction. Massive reduction in
weight allow higher agent capacities
and thus higher vehicle range.
The result – more effective interventions
and faster treatment of icing in
winter.
Remarkable is the low centre of gravity
of this series. Roadability unknown up
to now increases working safety in
winter maintenance to a large extend.
Weight distribution and fixation points
of IMS-F allow an exact adaptation to
centre of gravity position in respect to
the vehicle’s longitudinal axis resulting
in optimisation of steering and braking
action. Assisting is the well known
Boschung auger feeding system, granting
a steady hopper emptying during
intervention. The solid hopper is opening
completely to the side profile of
IMS-F. When equipped with humidification
system the liquid reservoirs are
integrated into this profile below the
opening.
Therefore charging is simple and fast
as no leftovers of spreading agent
remain at the machine parts.
Of course for Boschung IMS-F most
proven components of the modular
concept are used already in its basic
configuration, e.g.
Single auger dosage system with
hydraulic drive and transmission.
Humidification
system
No problem for effective
spreading by use of prewetting
with IMS-F-series.
Large brine reservoirs and a
maintenance free brine pump
in closed circuit as well as
automatic reduction of solid
agent for highest dosage
accuracy grant best results.
Dosage auger
The dosage auger is equipped with differing
pitch elements. This shall grant a
steady hopper emptying and that way a
uniform axle load and weight partition
from beginning to the end of intervention.
The double threaded end of auger offers a
continuous agent flow which is mandatory
Most modern spreading technology and perfect light weight construction
for perfect spreading results. To have the
optimum as well for drive purposes, a
high performance hydraulic drive with
transmission gear is used. The extreme
initial breakaway torque when starting
spread or with problematic agents
is remarkable for this unit with highest
torque reserves for the complete rpm
range.
Distributor
Optiwet ®
Integrated FS-adaptive-technology,
automatic spreading
width stabilisation and automatic
distributor head adaptation
make the OptiWet ®
distributor to achieve perfect
spreading results at extremely
low use of agent – the latest
state of art.
Hydraulics/Electronics
High quality hydraulic components
and longitudinal distribution
and a homogenous spreading
pattern, as well for larger
spreading widths.
relief valve and a standard hydraulic
pressure filter assure additional
functional safety.
Quick reaction proportional-flow
regulation valves and rpm acknowledgement
of drives allow a variance
comparison.
Due to modern processor technology
RPM corrections take place
automatically in the range of milliseconds.
KW-electronic components are licensed
and certified following “regulation
Commission for Europe (ECE-R10)!
Transmission
Highest torque reserves for the
complete rpm range allow the
auger drive an absolute pulsationfree
agent conveying.
As an option frequency overlaid
micro vibrations of the auger
may improve flow of problematic
spreading agents.
Hopper construction
The new Boschung IMS-F shows off with
an optimisation in hopper construction by
use of static and dynamic simulation
programs. The dimensionally stable light
weight construction clearly increases the
maintenance vehicle’s charging capacity for
thawing agents, highlighting an extremely
low centre of gravity. Thus vehicle handling
and driving safety is remarkably improved.
The special side wall construction allows to
use the Boschung single auger feeding
system.This system guarantees a complete
emptying of the Hopper and reduces eventually
necessary wear parts to an absolute
minimum compared to a dual auger system.
Flexible and adjustable fixation points allow
best adaptations of IMS-F to vehicle contours
independent from vehicle’s equipment
(e.g. performance hydraulics on Unimogs).
Therefore there is no change in height
which allows an exact adjustment of centre
of gravity in longitudinal axis.

Options:
The development of OptiWet ® OptiWet
®-Technology and
the use of most modern materials make the new
distributor an ideal basis for automated spreading
processes.
This is resulting in perfect spreading patterns without
the necessity of visual checks and manual adaptations
of the distribution head.
Advantages:
• A homogenous mixture of salt and brine without
saturation
• A uniform lateral distribution of thawing agents
covering the complete spreading pattern
• Perfect left and right flush for an optimal spreading
pattern
®
Vpad is the ideal regulation system for IMS-F-spreaders.
The almost „blind” keyboard handling cares
together with an ergonomic design and a voice respond
to all changes in regulation for a relief of user’s
personnel. Equipped with most modern processor
technology Vpad not only allows a perfect spreader
regulation but also takes over all communication
duties for Surface Condition Management.
A useful option to reduce the
amount of thawing agent is as well
for IMS-F spreaders the use of
ThermoMAT, which allows agent
savings of up to 30%.
These savings not only reflect positively
to the environment but also
show remarkable improvements on
the economic side
