On November 26, <strong>Grimaldi</strong><br />
Compagnia di Navigazione<br />
S.p.A., the Group’s<br />
parent company successfully completed<br />
the public offer of purchase<br />
on the shares of Minoan Lines, the<br />
Athens-listed ferry operator. The offer<br />
valued each share at €5.29 and<br />
the entire company at €375,198,540.<br />
On its closure <strong>Grimaldi</strong> controlled<br />
84.72% of Minoan Lines, up from the<br />
33.36% held on October 3, when the<br />
offer was launched. The shareholding<br />
rose to 84.96% by the end of December<br />
2008 as the Group purchased<br />
more shares on the market.<br />
Minoan Lines is based in Heraklion<br />
(Crete), it operates a fleet of six<br />
modern Cruise Ferry vessels on the<br />
routes linking the Greek mainland<br />
and Crete, as well as between Italy<br />
and Greece. In 2007, Minoan Lines<br />
transported 1.57 million passengers,<br />
283,000 cars and 153,000 trailers. In<br />
the first nine months of 2008, the company<br />
transported 1.41 million passengers,<br />
260,000 cars and 130,000<br />
trucks.<br />
On completion of the public offer, Mr.<br />
Emanuele <strong>Grimaldi</strong>, the joint Manag-<br />

ing Director of the <strong>Grimaldi</strong> Group<br />
and President of Minoan Lines commented:<br />
