Things to Consider when Ordering Cookies for a Booth Sale:
• What is your troop’s goal for the Cookie Sale? How many boxes do you need to sell to reach that goal?
• Will the site(s) you’re considering support the needed volume? Will they support an even larger volume of sales? Should
you consider using several sites?
• Order the number of cookies you will need for your first sale, and then restock for the next sale.
• Cookies may NOT be returned to the cookie cupboard or to the council after Feb 5th.
• Cookie varieties may be exchanged for other varieties based on availability at Cookie Cupboards or other troops.
• Additional cookies can be obtained from Cookie Cupboards, in full cases or boxes (there are 12 boxes in 1 case). If in doubt
about the quantity to order, consult with your SUCM or the council Product Program Department.
• Cookie Booths tend to attract people who do not have a chance to order cookies and people who want more Girl Scout
Cookies. We recommend you stock up on the top five varieties: Thin Mints, Samoas, Do-Si-Dos, Tagalongs, and Trefoils.
• There is no “perfect number” of cookies to take with you to a booth sale. Each location varies on how many cookies you can
sell, and even a location can be great one day and not-so-great another day.
• Based on our council’s Cookie Booth statistics we recommend the following proportions of varieties for your order:
Booth Sale Inventory Control
Before the sale:
o
o
o
Order enough cookies for your first sale and then restock.
Remember, the cookies you order from the Cookie Cupboard cannot be returned.
It is a good idea to schedule 6-8 sales over the seven week period. You are not limited to weekends! If your troop can
arrange for a sale after school or in the evening on a weekday, please do. School vacation week is also available to some
troops.
After the sale:
o Responsibility for unsold cookies remains with the troop. Notify your
SUCM and Cupboard Manager ASAP about any unsold cookies.
What We Learned Selling Cookies by Troop
20151
Finally, we were reminded how very, very,
very important it is to say thank you. We not
only thanked the customers who bought
cookies, we also thanked the businesses that
allowed us to sell on their property. We
realized we represented all of Girl Scouts
when we sold our cookies and we wanted to
make a good impression.
