Policy E5.1: <strong>Hardee</strong> <strong>County</strong> shall require mining interests that participate in the annual mining review<br />
process to address these elements of economic development contained in the Policies of Objective E5.<br />
Additionally, prior to approval, modification or extension of any development order, permit or other <strong>County</strong><br />
approval the applicant shall address the elements of economic development demonstrating how each mining<br />
operation and reclamation plan maximize and achieve economic development and diversity.<br />
Policy E5.2: <strong>Hardee</strong> <strong>County</strong> shall work with the private sector to develop a site donated by IMC in <strong>Hardee</strong><br />
<strong>County</strong> with a minimum of 30 jobs being created within the first three years of development.<br />
Policy E5.3: The <strong>County</strong> shall recognize "<strong>Hardee</strong> Lakes" as a highly desired and suitable reclamation land type,<br />
encouraging other reclamation plans to produce such land use formations. Its development shall attempt to<br />
yield, but not be limited to, recreational uses.<br />
Policy E5.4: <strong>Hardee</strong> <strong>County</strong> shall expeditiously amend its Mining Ordinance to reflect the philosophy of the<br />
<strong>Hardee</strong> <strong>County</strong> Comprehensive Plan, complying with or more stringent than State and Federal Laws, where<br />
applicable.<br />
Policy E5.5: All interests in the mining industry including but not limited to mining companies, banking, real<br />
estate sales and owners of land and governmental agencies shall be assembled into a working, perpetual ad<br />
hoc committee with the purpose of addressing the issues related to mining impacts and land use efficiency<br />
and<br />
suitability.<br />
