FUND: Established to honor Dr. Ruth Cole for her values<br />
and commitment. This scholarship is for nursing majors with<br />
financial need and demonstrated capability.<br />
JAMES T. CONE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND:<br />
Established by family and friends of James T. Cone, who was<br />
vice chairman of the board of trustees at the time of his death<br />
in 1968.<br />
COONS-FARRAR SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Established<br />
in memory of Catherine Farrar Williams for junior and senior<br />
students in designated areas of the health-care field.<br />
ELIZABETH J. COUCHMAN MEMORIAL FUND:<br />
Established by Elizabeth J. Couchman of Winchester, Ky.<br />
ADLAI STEVENSON AND MARGARET PRICE<br />
CROOM SCHOLARSHIP: Established by their children<br />
for an upper-class male Bible major from Arkansas.<br />
C. FLOYD DANIEL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP<br />
FUND: Established by Mr. and Mrs. David Lunceford to<br />
honor Mr. Daniel for his work for the <strong>University</strong>. Awards<br />
will be made to students with financial need that do not qualify<br />
for government grants.<br />
BRUCE ALAN DAVIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:<br />
Established by the parents of Bruce Alan Davis for members<br />
of the church of Christ who plan to do full-time church work<br />
after graduation or who are children of missionaries.<br />
SETH DECKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND:<br />
Established by the class of ’97 members from the Marriage<br />
and Family Therapy Program in memory of Seth Decker.<br />
Awarded to students seeking the master of science degree in<br />
marriage and family therapy.<br />
VICKI DELL MEMORIAL MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP<br />
FUND: Established by Dr. Erle T. and Mona Moore for students<br />
in voice or piano. Apply to the chair of the department.<br />
LANDON THOMAS DENNEY ENDOWED SCHOL-<br />
ARSHIP FUND: Established by Richard and Cynthia G.<br />
Denney in memory of their son, Landon Thomas Denney,<br />
to provide financial assistance to deserving students.<br />
CARLYLE DOCKERY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:<br />
Established by Nell and Randall Owen in memory of C.C.<br />
Dockery of Pine Bluff. Preference is given to students from<br />
Pine Bluff and southeast Arkansas and descendants of<br />
Carlyle Dockery.<br />
JOHN THOMAS ENGLAND AND HENRY HALL<br />
MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Established in<br />
memory of these two men by their children, Wayne B. and<br />
Juanita England Hall, for Christian men attending <strong>Harding</strong>.<br />
Preference is given to those who are preparing to preach the<br />
Gospel.<br />
ERNST & YOUNG ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP:<br />
Established by <strong>Harding</strong> alumni employed by Ernst & Young<br />
LLP for accounting majors.<br />
ESHEL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND:<br />
Established for students from Georgia.<br />
W.P. EUBANKS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP-LOAN<br />
FUND: Established by E.R. Shannon of Clinton in memory<br />
of Mr. and Mrs. P. Eubanks. From this fund, both loans<br />
and scholarships are awarded.<br />
FANNING ORPHAN FUND: For female students. One<br />
or both parents must be deceased. Scholarships range from<br />
$800 per year and are awarded upon receipt of a formal application.<br />
FIKE-CROPPER SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Established<br />
at the Graduate School of Bible and Religion by Don and<br />
Bonnie Fike of Jackson, Miss., to assist committed Christians<br />
who plan to preach the gospel at home or abroad.<br />
TED M. FOWLER SR. ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP<br />
FUND: Established to honor this donor’s father for his<br />
many years of service as a gospel preacher. This fund provides<br />
scholarships to men and women who are seeking a<br />
degree from <strong>Harding</strong> School of Biblical Studies.<br />
JEFF GAMMELL ENDOWED MEMORIAL SCHOL-<br />
ARSHIP: Established by his father, Lamar Gammell, and<br />
friends and family in Crossett, Ark., to provide financial assistance<br />
to deserving students attending <strong>Harding</strong> for the first<br />
time. Preference is given to students who are members of the<br />
Pine Street Church of Christ in Crossett, Ark., Hazel Street<br />
Church of Christ in Pine Bluff, Ark., and Village Church<br />
of Christ in Hot Springs, Ark.<br />
JAMES AND ARVIS GANUS MEMORIAL SCHOLAR-<br />
SHIP FUND: Established by the TWL Foundation of<br />
Metairie, La., to benefit students from the New Orleans or<br />
southern Louisiana area.<br />
C.L. AND LOUISE GANUS SCHOLARSHIP FUND:<br />
Established by friends in May 1987 upon his retirement in<br />
order to provide scholarships to deserving students.<br />
L. “BUTCH” GARDNER SCHOLARSHIP FUND:<br />
Established by Rex Fowler for minority students as defined<br />
by federal guidelines and students who demonstrate financial<br />
need based on Federal Pell Grant guidelines.<br />
THEODORE AND NELLIE GARNER SCHOLAR-<br />
SHIP FUND: Established to honor Theodore and Nellie<br />
Garner by their family. Special preference for these funds will<br />
be given to: 1) sophomore students majoring in Bible, or a<br />
second semester student in <strong>Harding</strong> School of Biblical<br />
Studies, or a nursing major; 2) current resident of the state<br />
of Arkansas, preferably from the Arkansas hill country; 3)<br />
students who are economically or financially challenged; 4)<br />
students who practice Christian morals and ethics; and 5)<br />
students who have legible penmanship.<br />
GROVER S. AND CAROL L. GARRETT ENDOWED<br />
SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Established by the Garrett family<br />
to assist financially needy, full-time students.<br />
GEORGIA YOUTH FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP<br />
FUND: As funds are available, scholarships are provided by<br />
the Georgia Youth Foundation for students from Georgia.<br />
Awards are based on financial need.<br />
