NUTRITION ADVISORS
A. Administrative
1. Write personal term report
2. Participate in planning own activities for the year
3. Represent division in community meetings on request
4. Keep records and statistics of activities
5. Maintain communication with development workers and other health workers
B. Nutrition Surveillance
1. Participate in community-based surveillance
2. Assist nursing personnel in growth monitoring and promotion
3. Assist nursing personnel with completion of nutritional surveillance forms
C. PEM Scheme
1. Acquaint yourself with the functioning of the scheme
2. Assist nursing personnel with screening for the participation in the scheme
3. Link up participants in the scheme with CBNP and other income-generating projects
4. Give nutrition education to all participants according to needs
5. Refer cases that need individual counselling to nutritionists
6. Advise nutritionists on clinic visits, where there is need
7. Assist in monitoring of the scheme
8. Initiate home visits where necessary.
D. Nutrition Education
1. Identify communities in need of nutrition education and prioritise needs
2. Give nutrition education to community groups as needed
3. Initiate nutrition promotion activities.
