auditing of the <strong>HSE</strong> Management objectives.<br />

How can this be achieved?<br />

‣ Developing and maintaining an audit programme.<br />

‣ Ensuring competent and independent (external to the location) auditors are appointed to<br />

lead audits.<br />

‣ Establishing arrangements for following up and closing out audit findings.<br />

‣ Communicating audit results to senior management, and to the departments and<br />

locations audited.<br />

What in the Drilling Contractor’s Management System demonstrates assurance to internal<br />

and external stakeholders that this objective can be achieved?<br />

‣ Details of the audit programme.<br />

‣ Criteria for selection and training of audit team members.<br />

‣ Details of the arrangements for planning, execution and reporting of <strong>HSE</strong> audits.<br />

‣ Details of the arrangements for tracking actions arising from audits.<br />

2.4.6 Verification of <strong>HSE</strong> Critical Activities/Tasks and Equipment/Systems<br />

Objective<br />

To demonstrate that arrangements are in place for verifying <strong>HSE</strong> critical activities/tasks and<br />

equipment/systems remain effective.<br />

How can this be achieved?<br />

‣ Identifying <strong>HSE</strong> critical activities/tasks and equipment/systems.<br />

‣ Establishing suitable arrangements for internal verification of the effectiveness of <strong>HSE</strong><br />

critical activities/tasks and equipment/systems.<br />

‣ Establishing suitable arrangements for external verification of the effectiveness of <strong>HSE</strong><br />

critical activities/tasks and equipment/systems.<br />

and external stakeholders that this objective can be achieved?<br />
