LOW NO X CONVERSION PACKAGE<br />

The Low NO X conversion combines various<br />

engine modifications designed to obtain low<br />

NO X values. The modifications set the ideal<br />

combination of compression ratio, injection<br />

timing and injection rate.<br />

IMO TIER I UPGRADE SOLUTIONS<br />

The solutions focus on NO X emission<br />

reduction below the IMO Tier I NOx limits for<br />

2-stroke engines built between 1.1.1990 and<br />

31.12.1999. Depending on engine type and<br />

rating, the solution will consist of injection<br />

timing related modifications or a combination<br />

of injection timing and compression ratio<br />

related modifications. The solutions will<br />

be commercially available for most engine<br />

types, when they are registered with IMO as<br />

certified Approved Method. The regulation for<br />

engines built 1990-1999 will be in force as of<br />

01.07.2010.<br />

SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION<br />

(SCR)<br />

SCR is currently the most efficient method<br />

of NO X reduction. The SCR method reduces<br />

NO X emissions by 85-95%. Hence, it is easy<br />

to reach NO X level of 2g/kWh or lower, which<br />

complies with the most stringent emission<br />

limits.<br />
