NDMA is doing substantial work in the area of medical preparedness. An international<br />
Seminar on ‘P<strong>and</strong>emic <strong>Preparedness</strong> beyond Health’ was held in April 2008, in<br />
collaboration with the United Nations <strong>Disaster</strong> Management Team, P<strong>and</strong>emic Influenza<br />
Contingency Team <strong>and</strong> the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).<br />
Training programmes on Basic Life Support <strong>and</strong> Advanced Trauma Life Support for the<br />
Medical Officers are being conducted on a regular <strong>and</strong> periodic basis in collaboration<br />
with JPN Apex Trauma Centre, AIIMS<br />
Training on Medical <strong>Preparedness</strong> for Emergency Medical Response to CBRN Casualities<br />
for Medical Officers has been initiated in collaboration with Defence Research <strong>and</strong><br />
Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence <strong>and</strong> Bhabha Atomic Research<br />
Centre.<br />
The NDMA has also proposed 2 Pilot Projects<br />
