1st International Cruise Conference
“Cruise Sector Growth - Exploring Opportunities and Challenges”
September 26th – 27th 2008

The 1st International Cruise Conference (abbr. ICC) will take place on September the 26 th and 27 th
2008, at the University of Applied Sciences in Bremerhaven. We are looking forward to two days
during which academics and experts will have the opportunity to exchange information, ideas and
thoughts about the future of the cruise sector. Keynote speeches, as well as workshops, are planned
in order to stimulate and enable discussion.
Apart from a stimulating and thought-provoking discussion, the contributions and ensuing discussion
will be documented and published in the form of conference proceedings. The themes covered (i.e.
tracks) are outlined in the accompanying call for papers. Within this context we invite and encourage
researchers and practitioners to contribute and present papers. Selected contributions and keynote
speeches are going to the basis for discussion amongst the participants (contributors and
attendants).
Suitable catering will be provided and is included in the participation fee. In addition, the following
options are available:
Main dinner event on Friday evening (the 26 th of September)
“Informal get together” on Thursday evening (the 25 th of September) for early arrivals
Various leisure activities and possibilities for accompanying parties (e.g. family-members)

Registration & Participation Fees:
The fee of € 200 includes documentation, lunch and refreshments (The dinner-event on the 26th
is not included in the participation fees)
Participants registering before June 15th, 2008 will receive a 20% discount on the participation
fees
All cancellations must be received in writing. A cancellation fee of 50% will apply for any
cancellations after August the 31st , 2008
Should you be unable to attend, a substitute is welcome at no extra charge
All fees are payable in advance of the event
The organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event

Journey Description to the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven

By train:
From the railway station ‘Bremerhaven HBF’ it takes about 5 minutes by taxi or bus to the University
of Applied Sciences. Possible busses are 502, 505, 506, 508 and 509. The bus station is called
"Hochschule Bremerhaven".
By car:
Leaving the motorway A27 at the slip road "Bremerhaven Mitte". Following the street on the left
lane until you arrive at the first junction where you have to turn one´s left to reach the Deichstrasse.
Now just follow the Deichstrasse until the next junction where you have to turn one´s right into the
Fährstrasse. The Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences is on the left hand side. There are
parking possibilities around the University.
