The volume control is the best takeoff<br />
point for recording. Note 25,-<br />
000 ohm resistor which may be incorporated<br />
in the plug. B -For<br />
AC /DC sets and TV sets which<br />
may have a voltage on the chassis,<br />
it is necessary to hook up a transformer<br />
to prevent this voltage from<br />
reaching the recorder and causing<br />
hum. In stubborn cases, where ordinarily<br />
the hookup shown in A<br />
should be sufficient, B must be used<br />

recordings, the best way to do it<br />
is shown in the drawing. This eliminates<br />
any possibility of hum and<br />
takes care of those speakers which<br />
may be grounded on one side. A<br />
I watt, 2000 ohm carbon resistor is<br />
connected to each line and across<br />
these is connected a 5 ohm, 2 waft<br />
carbon resistor. The transformer is<br />
hooked in as shown to give isolation.<br />
