LODGE MEETINGS
May 11, 2010
May 25, 2010
8:00 PM
ALL MEMBERS INVITED
My fellow members,
Ah, Spring. Mother nature
breathing new life into the flowers,
the birds & the bees. The
weather is fabulous. What more
can we ask for?
From the Exalted Ruler
Well, since you asked... Lets
give it a good stretch, have a
good yawn and wipe the sleep
out of our eyes from a long winter.
Great things are happening
around the lodge. Come on out! Visit the
Tap Room, attend lodge functions and perhaps,
give a little more of your time to this
great organization that does so much for
our special children.
Scott Jansen
I am proud to say that I have a special
child, Elizabeth. Elizabeth has been so
blessed to have such great friends at the
Manasquan Elks & Elizabeth loves you all
very much!
There is always something going on which
means there is always work to be done.
Please help when you can. Please take the
time to attend lodge meetings.
Eric Chalakani
We have the Wildwood Convention
coming up.. Please plan on
attending and enjoy a weekend
with fellow members.
I humbly thank you on behalf
of the officers and myself to allow
us to serve you and thank you for
the confidence that you have in us
to make this a fabulous year
Reminder to please come out to support
our upcoming events: Mother’s Day Ceremony
to be held on 5/9 at 12:30, the Jimmy
Goddard Golf Outing, sponsored by the
Veteran’s Committee, to be held on 5/10,
Karaoke Night, sponsored by the Karaoke
Committee, to be held on 5/22, a trip to a
Blue Claws baseball game, also sponsored
by our Veteran’s Committee, to be held on
5/23, the Manasquan Memorial Day Parade
on 5/31 & last, Flag Day on 6/14.
I hope to see you all at the Lodge soon!
Fraternally,
Eric Chalakani, ER
Effective May 15th, there will be no smoking outside the doors of the banquet room or outside the
kitchen door of the lodge. There is a designated smoking area in front of the building. Smoking in
other areas outside of the lodge is no longer permissible.
The good news is that there is a plan being formulated to accommodate our smoking members &
guests. Details to follow!
Any members violating this new regulation may be subject to suspension from the Lodge for 30
days.
Also please note how nice the front entrance looks without all the ‘Butts’ lying around. Thank you
to Shirley Smith for helping us to ‘Keep it Clean’ as well purchasing new 'Butt Buckets'…We do
realize that most of the ‘Butt’ issues are from parties & non-members—but f you see ‘Butts’ on the
ground… grab a ‘Butt Buddy’ and pick em up!! Help keep the Lodge grounds CLEAN!
Effective also as of May 15th, all members entering the lodge must use the front door and not the
kitchen access. By using the kitchen door we risk the contamination of food products in the
kitchen. Should anyone continue to use the kitchen access, they will be admonished and could be
subject to a suspension. Should you use the front rear door you will be asked to leave and enter
through the front, or you will not be served.
- House Committee.

Manasquan Elks Rose Garden
The signs in the rose garden need a lot of work as they have
been there for many years through all kinds of weather.
The street sign is one of several that are on the
roads leading to Manasquan. The one shown is on
Rt71 North, across from Dickson Plumbing.
Guess who is showing off her new Sweatshirt given to her
by Lil and Norma on her recent March accomplishments?
