Differences, one Canadian preceptor (Jim) related <strong>the</strong> conversation he had<br />
with his Middle Eastern <strong>in</strong>tern (Ali) at <strong>the</strong> end of his <strong>in</strong>ternship.<br />
Jim: What was <strong>the</strong> most memorable moment of your <strong>in</strong>ternship?<br />
Ali: I th<strong>in</strong>k it was when you were fil<strong>in</strong>g some paperwork on <strong>the</strong> third day of my<br />
<strong>in</strong>ternship.<br />
Jim: What do you mean?<br />
Ali: <strong>You</strong> were complet<strong>in</strong>g some papers and I was watch<strong>in</strong>g you from <strong>the</strong> back of <strong>the</strong><br />
pharmacy. At one po<strong>in</strong>t, you crumpled a piece of paper and threw it <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> blue box.<br />
The blue box was full, so <strong>the</strong> paper fell on <strong>the</strong> floor. <strong>You</strong> leaned down, picked it up,<br />
and put it on top of <strong>the</strong> pile <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> blue box. A few m<strong>in</strong>utes later, you threw ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />
