Council noted for <strong>in</strong>formation<br />
that while <strong>the</strong> Leslie Dan Faculty<br />
of Pharmacy, University of Toronto<br />
plan to develop and implement<br />
a new curriculum to replace<br />
<strong>the</strong> exist<strong>in</strong>g 4-year BScPhm program<br />
will not be realized for <strong>the</strong><br />
2010 cycle, <strong>the</strong> Faculty’s proposal<br />
for <strong>the</strong> PharmD program has been<br />
forwarded by <strong>the</strong> Ontario M<strong>in</strong>istries<br />
of Health and of Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, Colleges<br />
and Universities to <strong>the</strong> Pan-<br />
Canadian Coord<strong>in</strong>at<strong>in</strong>g Committee<br />
for review. Until this review has occurred,<br />
<strong>the</strong> curriculum for <strong>the</strong> BSc-<br />
Phm program, aside from alreadyplanned<br />
and required revisions, will<br />
rema<strong>in</strong> essentially unchanged for<br />
students admitted <strong>in</strong> September<br />
2010.<br />

Follow<strong>in</strong>g adjournment of Council discussions<br />
on Monday, June 8, 2009, a<br />
Reception to recognize and honour<br />
Dean Wayne H<strong>in</strong>dmarsh on his retirement<br />
was attended by Council<br />
members. Dr. and Mrs. H<strong>in</strong>dmarsh<br />
were guests of honour at <strong>the</strong> Reception<br />
and Registrar Williams and<br />
President Wiersema took <strong>the</strong> opportunity<br />
to thank <strong>the</strong> Dean for his considerable<br />
<strong>in</strong>put both at Council and<br />
committee levels dur<strong>in</strong>g his tenure.<br />
The next Council meet<strong>in</strong>g will be<br />
held on September 14 and 15, 2009.<br />
