LIFE IS WHAT
YOU WANT IT TO BE
Is your life what you want it to be? Life is made of many choices.
Choosing to live out your dreams takes hard work and determination. My
prayer is that my story will encourage you to seek what is in your heart.
I am married to my wonderful husband of 11 years, Matt Keener. We
are blessed with a four-year-old son, Braden, and in October of 2010
we will have a little girl! God has blessed us with a wonderful family
and continues to be faithful. My dream was to be a stay-at-home mom.
I had a mom who stayed home with my twin sister, my brother and me,
and for that I have always been grateful.
Fresh out of college, I found myself excited to start my career. I proudly
earned my degree in Interior Design and was ready to go! I assumed
my husband, who had received a Bachelor’s Degree and two Master’s
Degrees, would find something he loved to do, and I would stay home
once we started our family. In August of 2006, we were blessed with
our son and life looked much the same. What happened to the dreams
I had after college? Financially, we were torn, and I knew that quitting
my design job was not an option. So I did what most people do and
settled for less than what my heart desired. I cut back my hours as much
as I could in order to be a part-time stay-at-home mom. I dropped my
son off every day and noticed that I was missing irreplaceable things,
like first words and first steps. Oh, if I could just have more time with my
little one! At this point, I knew I would regret my decisions and the kind
of mom I was becoming.
After more than a year of prayer, my cousin and sponsor, Alissa Lovett,
called to introduce me to Arbonne. She was very excited about her
new business and wanted me to take a look. Initially, I didn’t recognize
this as an answer to my prayers. I had many misconceptions about
network marketing and didn’t think it was something I would enjoy. I
already loved my job and didn’t want to “settle” for something I didn’t
equally love. I was proud of my career as a designer, and wondered
if an Arbonne business was something I could be proud of. Like many
people, I had doubts and fears. Since I had used the Arbonne products
for six years, I already knew I loved them. Alissa was patient and kind
and kept “dripping” on me. She asked me a simple question: “If you
continue to do what you’re doing, where will you be in five years?” I
decided this was it! This was my way to live the life my family deserves!
success strategy:
Consistency and belief are
the keys to success.
I understood that I had a precious gift to offer my sweet boy and others
who were struggling just like me.
I continued to work as an interior designer for one and a half years
after starting my Arbonne business. I dedicated time and passion every
day to what I knew would bring me home. Arbonne takes hard work
and sacrifice, and I was willing to do that because I was no longer just
trading time for money — I was trading time for a future, and building
an organization that could help our family. During the hard times, I chose
to be a lifer! I knew that never giving up would eventually get me to the
top. In September of 2009, I was able to fulfill my first dream. I walked
away from the largest design firm in Springfield to take care of a bigger
priority in my life: my family. I have been blessed with the opportunity
to stay home and be the mom I always adored!
As you continue your journey with this business, your dream, like mine,
will grow. You’ll soon realize that this is more than you and your family.
This business is about reaching outside your comfort zone and helping
others achieve their passions. This business will mold and shape you into
a stronger person. We can’t achieve our wildest dreams by remaining
who we are! My advice is to remember that consistency and belief are
the keys to success. You can work this business part time, but not part
of the time. You may not see results right away, but by consistently working
and believing, God will provide. Seek those who need Arbonne as
an answer to their prayers. Be the person who helps fulfill their desires.
My journey to RVP has not been easy, and without the support of my
team, I would not be here today. They have encouraged me and lifted
me up by fighting for their dreams and never giving up! My friends
and family have also been a continual source of strength and support.
Thanks to all of you for believing in me more than I believed in myself.
I cherish all of you and the lifelong relationships we have developed. I
am a better person because you are in my life!
Sara and the team at her Mercedes-Benz Car Presentation.
To my upline, NVP Carrie McDonald, ENVP Deanna Herrin and ENVP
Cecilia Stoll: Thanks to all of you for your strong leadership and for
paving the way to make this journey possible!
To my family: Thank you for supporting me, whether it was through cards,
words of comfort, encouragement, babysitting or buying product. I love
you all and cherish our relationships!
To Braden and Brenley: I love and treasure each and every day that I
am blessed with you! Thank you for who you are and who you have
taught me to be. My prayer is that you will become the people God
intends you to be. Work hard and never give up on your dreams! Be
faithful servants and God will always provide.
To my husband and best friend, Matt Keener: Thank you for being my
constant companion, support and the rock behind my success! Your quiet
support and leadership has guided me to where I am today. I love you
more than life and can’t wait to spend the rest of it with you!
To anyone thinking of starting an Arbonne business: We all have different
reasons for beginning our journey. Remember your dreams and that life
is what you want it to be. If you want something more, Arbonne can
make it happen! Don’t let life just happen; instead, make the life that you
have always dreamed of!
