800 km long network with 31 routes of varying difficulty. Families, on the
other hand, head for the Karnische Radweg trail which runs for 90 km on
gentle terrain along the Gail river from Kötschach-Mauthen to Villach.
Guided tours, designated mountain bike trails, bike transportation by
cable-car and above all tours without frontiers into neighbouring Italy are
some of the highlights. The Pressegger See and Weissensee are not only
picturesque bathing lakes but have water of pure drinking quality.

International Tour of Austria. This cycle race was first held in 1949 and
celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2008. The International Tour of Austria is the country’s
greatest cycling race and a sports event with a long and prestigious history. Since 2006 it
has been in the Hors Categorie, and this stage race counts as one of the greatest cycling

The Klopeiner See region in Southern Carinthia is a picturesque
and frontier-crossing cycling paradise with a trail network of some
1,246 km. Cyclists love the themed cycle paths, which are traffic-free,
and the mountain biking and trekking tours. A 61 km section of the Drau
River cycle path is a very achievable challenge for families and leisure
cyclists. Two manmade attractions worth a longer look are Middle Europe’s
highest railway bridge over the Jauntal and the Santa Lucia suspension
bridge. Here, the 25 km long Kunstradweg trail has many cycle-friendly
inns and restaurants along the way, serving suitable fuel for cyclists with
specialities of Carinthian,
Italian and Slovenian

panoramic view stretches from Dachstein mountain to Triglav and
from Glockner to the Plattensee. There’s always time for a break
