Programs Offered<br />
Elementary & Middle <strong>School</strong> Programs (Grades K to 8) •<br />
International students are immersed with Canadian students<br />
and ESL is provided as required. Students aged 11 and older may<br />
apply for our homestay program. Younger students are required<br />
to live with a parent or relative for their entire program.<br />
Secondary Culture Program (Grades 9 to 12) • Students<br />
take a regular school program and are immersed <strong>in</strong> Canadian<br />
classrooms to learn English and experience Canadian culture. ESL<br />
is provided as required. Students may apply for our Homestay<br />
Program.<br />
Secondary Graduation Program (Grades 9 to 12) •<br />
Students who successfully complete this program will receive<br />
the world-recognized Dogwood Certificate. ESL is provided as<br />
required. Students may apply for our Homestay Program.<br />
W<strong>in</strong>ter Short-Term Program • Students are immersed <strong>in</strong><br />
regular classrooms and are provided up to 50% ESL (based on<br />
English ability). Group programs with activities are available. A<br />
short-term Homestay Program is provided.<br />
Summer Short-Term Program • Students learn English and<br />
Canadian culture <strong>in</strong> morn<strong>in</strong>g classes and participate <strong>in</strong> summer<br />
activities <strong>in</strong> the afternoon. Activities <strong>in</strong>clude swimm<strong>in</strong>g, boat<strong>in</strong>g,<br />
waterslides, cycl<strong>in</strong>g, hik<strong>in</strong>g, rock climb<strong>in</strong>g and cultural tours. A<br />
short-term Homestay Program is provided.<br />
Pr<strong>in</strong>cess Margaret Soccer Academy • The Soccer Centre<br />
is an elite soccer specific tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g program based at Pr<strong>in</strong>cess<br />
Margaret Secondary and the SOYSA Adidas Indoor Sportsplex.<br />
The program offers outstand<strong>in</strong>g technical soccer <strong>in</strong>struction and<br />
skill tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g. The <strong>in</strong>structor is a former varsity university player,<br />
NCCP certified and a recipient of the Prime M<strong>in</strong>ister’s Teach<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Excellence Award.
Application Process<br />
Step 1: Complete the application documentation, which is<br />
available on the <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> No. <strong>67</strong> website:<br />

Applications should be scanned and submitted by email to:<br />
InternationalEd@summer.com<br />
Step 2: Pay the application fee by money order or bank wire<br />
transfer.<br />
Step 3: Submit application documentation <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g:<br />
• Completed Request for Admission of Student form<br />
• Copy of the student passport<br />
• Certified transcripts of school records <strong>in</strong> English<br />
• Completed Student Application for Homestay form<br />
(if apply<strong>in</strong>g for homestay)<br />
• Signed Participation Guidel<strong>in</strong>es<br />
• TOEFL, IELTS or other English test results if available<br />
Step 4: Upon acceptance, scanned copies of the Letter of<br />
Acceptance, custodianship forms and <strong>in</strong>voice will be emailed to<br />
the applicant for proof<strong>in</strong>g. Once the documents are confirmed<br />
correct, the applicant is to send a confirmation email. Orig<strong>in</strong>al<br />
documents will be sent by courier once fees are received.<br />
Step 5: <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> staff will provide bank wire transfer<br />
<strong>in</strong>formation. When complet<strong>in</strong>g a wire transfer, ensure the student<br />
name is on the bank wire details. Email a scanned copy of the wire<br />
transfer document as soon as possible after the wire transfer is sent.<br />
Step 6: Student applies for study permit and/or appropriate<br />
Citizenship and Immigration Canada documents to travel to<br />
Canada. Your length of program will determ<strong>in</strong>e the documentation<br />
that you will require. Please note that <strong>British</strong> <strong>Columbia</strong> Medical<br />
Insurance is a mandatory requirement for all <strong>in</strong>ternational students.<br />

Activities<br />
<strong>School</strong> Activities • Sports: volleyball, soccer, basketball,<br />

Apex Mounta<strong>in</strong> Resort <strong>in</strong> Penticton is one of the hidden gems<br />
of Canadian ski<strong>in</strong>g. Apex is a full service dest<strong>in</strong>ation with great<br />
weather, <strong>in</strong>credible terra<strong>in</strong> and the lightest champagne powder<br />
imag<strong>in</strong>able.<br />
International Student Activities • Shopp<strong>in</strong>g trips, live<br />
theatre, hockey games, bowl<strong>in</strong>g, snow sports, water sports,<br />

Penticton & Area<br />
<strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> No. <strong>67</strong> (Okanagan Skaha) is located <strong>in</strong> the<br />
sunny <strong>in</strong>terior of <strong>British</strong> <strong>Columbia</strong>, <strong>in</strong> the region known as<br />
the Okanagan Valley. The district <strong>in</strong>cludes the communities<br />
of Penticton, Summerland, Naramata, West Bench and Kaleden,<br />
which are situated between two sparkl<strong>in</strong>g fresh water lakes,<br />
lush orchards, and majestic mounta<strong>in</strong>s. Surrounded by world<br />
class recreational opportunities and sensational scenery,<br />

Accord<strong>in</strong>g to Environment Canada, the Penticton area has the<br />
most attractive climate of all Canadian cities with over 2,100<br />
hours of sunsh<strong>in</strong>e and only 33 centimetres of ra<strong>in</strong> annually. This<br />
area has a comfortable climate year round with hot, dry summers<br />
and is one of the few places <strong>in</strong> Canada with short, mild w<strong>in</strong>ters.<br />
Penticton and area is a highly desirable place to live as it<br />
offers a wide array of sport tourism and outdoor adventure<br />
opportunities. Enjoy ski<strong>in</strong>g or snowboard<strong>in</strong>g at Apex Mounta<strong>in</strong><br />
Ski Resort, rock climb<strong>in</strong>g at the Skaha Bluffs, mounta<strong>in</strong> bik<strong>in</strong>g<br />
along the Kettle Valley Trail, swimm<strong>in</strong>g at the beach, float<strong>in</strong>g<br />
