<strong>Pharmacy</strong> Alumni Association (PhAA) News<br />
Greetings Alumni and Friends,<br />
<strong>Summer</strong> is going by quickly! The <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Pharmacy</strong> is already gearing up<br />
for a very special fall. <strong>Spring</strong> ended with several events for the Class <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>2012</strong>. It was an enjoyable time welcoming this special group to the <strong>Purdue</strong><br />
<strong>Pharmacy</strong> Family. It is always hard to say goodbye, but we know this class<br />
will go on to do great things. Congratulations, Class <strong>of</strong> <strong>2012</strong>!<br />
The 16th Annual BoileRx Classic was a lot <strong>of</strong> fun and a little wet! Ninety<br />
golfers braved the rain to play golf in support <strong>of</strong> the <strong>College</strong>’s Alumni<br />
Scholarships on the Ackerman course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf complex<br />
on May 31st. Leroy Keyes, a great ambassador for <strong>Purdue</strong>, once again came<br />
out to help us raise money for scholarships. Congratulations to the winning<br />
team comprised <strong>of</strong> Nick Claycomb, Robert Gibson (BS 1969), Keith Kelso, and<br />
Joel Thompson (PharmD 2005)!<br />
Fall brings a renewed excitement back to campus not only because <strong>of</strong> the<br />
return <strong>of</strong> our students, but the return <strong>of</strong> our alumni. The pharmacy class<br />
<strong>of</strong> 1962 will return to campus for their 50th Reunion during September 28-29.<br />
The dates and times have also been set for our annual homecoming activities<br />
in our tent outside the <strong>Pharmacy</strong> building. The Student and Alumni Chili<br />
Supper, held on Friday, October 12th at 6 p.m., is a great way for our<br />
students and alumni to get to know one another and puts us in the perfect<br />
location to view the Homecoming parade afterwards. The Annual Homecoming<br />
tailgate will be held on Saturday, October 13th beginning at 9 a.m.<br />
We are very excited about a new alumni event this fall. We will host a<br />
<strong>Pharmacy</strong> Couples Tailgate on October 6th at the Birck Boilermaker Golf<br />
Complex. The <strong>College</strong> has over three hundred couples where both are pharmacy<br />
alumni. We are inviting this group to campus to meet each other and to<br />
cheer the Boilers on to victory over Michigan at Ross Ade Stadium.<br />
The <strong>College</strong> will be traveling a couple <strong>of</strong> times this fall to gather with<br />
alumni. We will be in Chicago on October 14th for a reception at the AAPS<br />
meetings, and we will be in Las Vegas on December 2nd for a reception at<br />
the ASHP midyear meeting.<br />
