-born in 1898, in Schoenau<br />
RUSSIAN-MENNONITE IMMIGRANTS<br />
<strong>of</strong> the 1920's (Ontario)<br />
-father was Herman Enns; he was in tile-making business<br />
-mother died in 1911<br />
-worked in Sanitaetsdienst on Train #174 from 1916-1917; entered service voluntarily<br />
-bribed his way out <strong>of</strong> the service in 1917<br />
-involved in black market activities during the civil war<br />
-was in Moscow during October 1917 revolution<br />
-served in the Selbstschutz<br />
-served in the White army under Gen. Thiele as machine-gunner<br />
-emmigrated in early 1930; quarantined in Hammerstein<br />
-left for Brazil in May 1930<br />
-worked here as farmer and cobbler<br />
-came to Leamington in 1947; well-known in the Virgil area as "Schusta" Enns
