Simulation parameters Simulation has been run <strong>for</strong> different water properties and photocathode areas: • absorption length has little effect on correlated rates • 3-inch PMTs have a nominal photocathode diameter of 75 mm • recent measurements show effective diameter to be around 70 mm, which can be increased to 75 or even more by fitting Winston cones (as presented by Oksana Kavatsyuk in DAQ session 1) • what difference does this make <strong>for</strong> correlated hits?
