in Europe? Head for the Elblag Canal Cruise! An unforgettable
experience, it is a spectacular trip along
one of the most unique and extraordinary canals
in the world – a masterpiece of water engineering,
with a complex system of slipways. Five subsequent
slipways enable to it overcome a 100-meter differential
in the water.
ITINERARY
09.00 – training program for the participants – jet
ski lessons, introduction to general safety rules and
regulations.
10.00 – start out from Elblag, the trail leads along the
canal and through the unique Druzno Lake, a strict
nature reserve. The remote marshes and rushes are
a shelter for thousands of aquatic birds, making the
whole place a birdwatcher paradise. From the Druzno
lake, the trail leads through a number of slipways:
Caluny, Jelenie, Olesnica, Katy and Buczyniec, dating
back to the 19th century. Participants can follow the
whole process of loading and moving the boats on
trolleys down the slipway and take a rare opportunity
to cruise on board a boat “sailing” on the grass.
Lunch in a cruise break.
18.00 – end of the journey in Ostroda.

slipways which allow the ships to be pulled on rails. They cover all the sections where the difference in levels is too great
