John Lawson married Maria Cowin on 22nd of January, 1810, at St. Matthew, 

Douglas. The family moved to Liverpool before 1841. Continued from 5.6.8 and see 

6.58 below. 

6.1 Edward Roscoe & Joney Lawson

6.1.1 Joney Lawson (546) married Edward Roscoe (562) on the 19th of January, 1778, 

in Liverpool. As no further trace of a Roscoe family has been found on the Island, it 

assumed that the couple lived in Liverpool. Details of possible children not yet 

researched. 

6.2 Edward Lawson & Isabella Bridson 

6.2.1 Edward & Isabella Lawson appear to have moved to Liverpool after the birth of 

the last of their six children. The exact date has not yet been determined, but the 

family does not appear in the 1841 census for the Isle of Man.

6.3.1 Edward Lawson (1620) was baptized in May, 1816, at Malew. He did not survive 

childhood and was buried on the 25th of November, 1819, at Malew.

6.3.2 John Lawson (1621) was baptized on the 6th of June, 1819, at Malew. John 

appears to have married twice. The name of his first wife has not yet been 

determined but the marriage took place circa 1845. He married secondly Catherine 

(Caren) on the 21st of December, 1864, at St Nicholas, Liveroool. See 6.4 for details 

of his descendants. 

The 1881 census shows him living at 266, Beaufort Street, Toxteth Park, with his 

second wife, Catherine, his daughter, Isabella, and his step-son William Caren. 

John’s occupation is given as “coal merchant”. Living next door at 268 Beafort 

Street, is Margaret Ann, the widow of his youngest brother, William, and her 

family. 

6.3.2.1 Catherine (Caren) (2846) was born circa 1820 on the Isle of Man. She married … 

Caren circa 1845. There was at least one son fo the marriage, William, born circa 1849 

at Liverpool. She married secondly John Lawson on the 21st of December, 1864, at 

St. Nicholas, Liverpool. 

6.3.3 Edward Lawson (1622) was baptized on the 22nd of October, 1821, at Malew. He 

moved with his parents to Liverpool where he married Annie … circa 1845. the 

1881 census for 23, Bianca Street, Bootle cum Linacre, gives his occupation as 

“shipwright”. Family reminiscence related by John Berry tell that Edward was 

associated with the Leeds & Liverpool Canal and drove pony and trap up and down 

it on tours of inspection. At the end of the day the pony knew which pubs to stop at. 

See 6.5 for details of his descendants. 

6.3.3.1 Annie … (2841) was born circa 1815 at Anglesey, Wales. She married Edward 

Lawson circa 1845. See 6.5 for details of her descendants. (Possibly Williams) 

6.3.4 Thomas Lawson (1623) was baptized on the 8th of August, 1824, at Malew. After 

moving to Liverpool with his parent, he married Margaret … circa 1850. The census 

of 1881 for 17, Clevedon Street, Toxteth Park, Liverpool shows him living with his 

wife and daughter, Frances. His occupation is given as “shipwright”. See 6.6 for 

details of his descendants. 

6.3.4.1 Margaret … (2847) was born circa 1823 at Rainhill, Lancashire. She married 

Thomas Lawson circa 1850. See 6.6 for details of her descendants. 

6.3.5 Mary Ann Lawson (1624) was baptized on the 15th of February, 1827, at St. 

Mary, Castletown. She died on the 9th of May, 1841, at Liverpool, aged 14 years and 

3 months and was buried with her brother, Edward, at Malew. 

6.3.6 William Lawson (1625) was baptized on the 23rd of August, 1829, at St. Mary, 

Castletown. He apprenticed as a shipwright 1843-44. He obtained his mariner’s 

ticket in 1849. He was enrolled in the Liverpool Shipwright’s Association in 1850. 

He married Margaret Anne Jones circa 1851. He died before 1877 and was buried at 

St. James, Liverpool. See 6.7 for details of his descendants. 

6.3.6.1 Margaret Anne Jones (2631) was born circa 1830. She married William Lawson 

circa 1851. The 1881 census shows her living at 266, Beaufort Street, Toxteth See 6.7 

for details of her descendants.

wife died before 1881. At the census of 1881 he is shown as a 31 years old widower 

living with his parents at 23, Bianca Street, Bootle. His occupation is given as iron 

moulder. Living with him is his son, Thomas (2844) who was born circa 1874 at 

Liverpool. 

6.5.2 John Lawson (2843) was born circa 1857 at Liverpool. The 1881 census shows 

him living with his parents at 23, Bianca Street, Bootle, a 23 years old labourer.

6.7.1 Isabella Lawson (2632) was baptized on the 11th of February, 1852. She has not 

been found in the 1881 census under her maiden name. No further details available. 

6.7.2 Edward Lawson (2633) was born on the 5th of January, 1856, in Liverpool. At the 

census of 1881 he was living with his parents and is described as a baker. He 

married Elizabeth Jones on the 26th of September, 1881, at St. 

Michael’s-in-the-Hamlet, Liverpool. He was a flour dealer and at one time ran a 

bakery. He died on the 13th of November, 1926, and was buried at the Toxteth Park 

Cemetery. See 6.8 for details of his descendants. 

6.7.2.1 Elizabeth Jones (2636) was born circa 1858, the daughter of John Jones. She 

married Edward Lawson on the 26th of September, 1881, at Liverpool. She died of 

cancer in 1915. See 6.8 for details of her descendants. 



6.7.3 William Lawson (2634) was baptized on the 11th of February, 1858, at Liverpool. 

A tailor, he established a shop at 80, Wavetree Road, Edgehill in 1884. He also had a 

shop in St. Helen’s. It is known that he married and had at least one son. 

The 1881 census appears to show his birth year as 1864. He is described as 16 years 

old apprentice baker living with his widowed mother. 

6.7.4 Margaret Ann Lawson (2635) was baptized on the 4th of December, 1859, at 

Liverpool. 

The 1881 census appears to show her birth year as 1866. She is described as 14 years 

old dressmaker living with her widowed mother.

6.8.3 Florence Mary Lawson (2639) was born on the 12th of January, 1885, at 

Liverpool. She did not survive infancy and died on the 31st of October, 1885. She is 

buried at Toxteth Park. 

6.8.4 Edith Evelyn Lawson (2640) was born on the 5th of December, 1890, at 

Liverpool. She married Alfred Scott. She died without issue on the 31st of 

December, 1981, at Liverpool. 

6.8.4.1 Alfred Scott (2644) was born circa 1880. He married Edith Evelyn Lawson. No 

further details available. 

6.8.5 Ethel Montgomery Lawson (2641) was born on the 26th of November, 1898, at 

Liverpool. She married John Valentine Christian. She died on the 23rd of May, 

1993, at Formby, Lancashire. See 6.17 for details of her descendants.

6.20.1 James Lawson (472) married Catherine Kelly on the 10th of February, 1828 at 

Kirk Braddan. James was a baker and flour dealer. Their first two children were 

born on the Isle of Man, but by 1833 the family had moved to Liverpool where the 

remaining three children were born. see 6.21 for details of his descendants. 

James (472) and his brother John (474) appeaar to have set up business as bakers and 

flour dealers. The Liverpool city directory of 1859 shows them conducting their 

business at 20, Harding Street, see 6.29. He has not been found in the 1881 census. 

6.20.2 Catherine Kelly (193) was born circa 1805. She married James Lawson on the 10th 

of February, 1828, at Braddan. She was a dressmaker.She has not been found in the 

1881 census.

6.21.1 James Lawson (635) was baptized at Kirk Braddan on the 21st of January, 1829. 

He married Elizabeth Parr on the 16th of May, 1852 at St. Mary’s, Edge Hill, 

Liverpool. The 1871 census shows the family living at 6, Shelley Street, Toxteth, 

when both James and his seventeen year old son,Samuel are shown as “bakers”. 

The census of 1881 shows the family living at 26, Exeter Street, Toxteth Park. By 

this time Elizabeth had died and three of his sons were living with him and working 

as bakers.See 6.22 below for details of his descendants. 

6.21.1.1 Elizabeth Parr (640) was born in 18... She married James Lawson at St. Mary’s, 

Edge Hill, Liverpool, on the 16th of May, 1852. She died before the census of 1881.

6.22.1 Samuel Lawson (642) was born in Wales in 1854. At the census of 1871 he was 

living at home and working as a baker. He married ... Jackson circa 1872 for at the 

census of 1881 we find him living with his in-laws at Ingo Lane, Kirkby, Lancashire. 

He is described as married though his wife does not appear to be living at the same 

address. His eight year old daughter, Elizabeth, is living with him. 

6.22.2 John Lawson (643) was born at Liverpool in 1856. In 1881 he is living with his 

widowered father and working as a baker. He died without issue. 

6.22.3 Edward Lawson (644) was born at Liverpool in 1858. In 1881 he is living with his 

widowered father and working as a baker. 

6.22.4 Robert Lawson (645) was born at Liverpool in 1861. In 1881 he is living with his 

widowered father and working as a baker. 

6.22.5 Henry Lawson (646) was born on the 9th of May, 1863 at Liverpool. He was a 

baker at Combermere Street, Liverpool. He married Minnie Walker in 1882 at St. 

Michael’s, Aigburth. He died aged ninety-two years in 1954 at Liverpool. See 6.25 

below for his descendants. 

6.22.5.1 Minnie Walker (651) was born at Hull in 1863, the daughter of … Walker and 

Mary Anne Kelly. The census of 1881 shows her living with her widowed mother 

and younger sister, Bertha, at 37, North Hill Street, Toxteth Park. She married 

Henry Lawson in 1882. She died at Liverpool in 1947. See 6.25 for details of her 

descendants. 

6.22.6 Emma Lawson (647) was born at Liverpool in 1865. In 1881 she was living with 

her widowered father and was the housekeeper for the family.

6.25.3.4 Mavis Thomas (664) was born on the 10th of July, 1924. She married Harold 

Haynes on the 14th of June, 1947. She died on the 23rd of April, 1995. 

6.25.3.5 Audrey Thomas (665) was born in 1927. She married Leslie Walker (668). 

6.25.3.6 Brenda Thomas (666) was born in 1929. 

6.25.3.7 Lennard Thomas (667) was born in 1932. He died in 1937 

6.25.4 Henry Lawson (655) was born in 1895. 

6.25.5 John Lawson (656) was born in 1897. Deaf and dumb from childhood (birth?) he 

was a kind man with a gift for communications. He was a good football player and 

had trials for Everton Football Club but was not taken on as he could not hear the 

whiistle! A french polisher, he married Edith May Evans before 1937. He died circa 

1990. See 6.26 for details of his descendants. 



6.28.2 Elizabeth Lawson (650) was born in November, 1860. No further details 

available. 

6.29 John Lawson and Jane Lewis

6.29.1 John Lawson (474) was baptized on the 14th of January, 1810, at the church of St. 

George, Douglas. He moved to Liverpool where he married Jane Lewis on the 8th of 

October, 1832, at St. John’s, Old Haymarket, Liverpool. 

John (474) went into business with his brother James as bakers and flour dealers, 

see 5.15.1. The 1841 census shows The family living at 10, Chadwick Street, 

Liverpool, when John is described as a baker. The census of 1861-81 all show the 

family living at 79-81 Netherfield Road, Liverpool, and John is described as a flour 

dealer. 

6.29.1.1 Jane Lewis (710) was born in 1812 in Wales. She married John Lawson on the 

8th of October, 1833. She died on the 27th of April, 1886, in Liverpool. See 6.29 for 

details of her descendants.

Anne Hardman on the 3rd of August, 1864. He died on the 16th of July, 1917. See

The 1881 census shows him and his family living at market Street, Little Meolse, 

Cheshire. A corn merchant, in 1881 the family employed two live–in servants. In 

1901 the family were living at Great Crosby. James was described as a corn 

merchant, aged 63.

6.30.8 George Walker Lawson (718) was born on the 23rd of April, 1849. In 1875 he 

entered the London college of Divinity. He was ordained Deacon in 1877, serving at 

St. George’s, Edgbaston, Warwickshire, until 1883. The 1881 census shows him 

lodging at 18, Duchess Road, Edgbaston. He was ordained priest at Worcester in 

1878. George served as Vicar of St. Matthew’s, Croydon, from 1883 to 1889. He 

married Clara Johnson (1245) circa 1885. After a short time as Vicar of St. Thomas’s, 

Kentish Town, he served for 18 years as the Rector of Langley, Maidstone (1900-18) 

before moving to Commbe, Devon. He died on the 10th of March, 1922, at 

Worthing. 

6.30.9 Walter Aspinal Lawson (719) was born on the 25th of December, 1850 and died 

in 1851. 

6.30.10 Joseph Lawson (720) was born on the 8th of February, 1852. He married 

Elizabeth Neale on the 20th of August, 1879. The 1881 census shows him and his 

family living at 121, Heyworth Street, Everton, when Joseph was described as as a 

baker, bread & flour dealer, employing 4 men & 4 boys. The family employed 2 

live–in servants. The census of 1891 shows him living at 83, South Street, Waterloo, 

Crosby, when he is described as a bread & flour dealer. He died on the 17th of 

October, 1925, See 6.37 for details of his descendants.

parents aged 31. One daughter, Rhoda Anne Stote (742) (born on the 21st of 

September, 1906) who married Robert Cecil Mayall on the 10th of July, 1929 (two 

children: Rhoda Janet Mayall, and James B Lawson Mayall). 

6.32.3.1 Cuthbert Stote (734) was born on the 30th of June, 1865, at Skelton in 

Cleveland, Yorkshire, the son of Arthur & Annie of Lymington, Hants. He died on 

the 4th of July, 1949.

Sometime before 1861 he moved to Liverpool for in the census of that year he is 

shown as living with his uncle, John Lawson (474), and his family at 79-81, 

Netherfield Road. He was working as an apprentice baker, a trade he followed for 

the rest of his life. He is listed in the 1881 census as a “master baker employing 1 

assistant”. John married Agnes Bell McIndoe on the 12th of November, 1872 at the 

Islington Presbyterian Church in Liverpool when he was described as a bachelor 

and baker of 9, Gregson Street, West Derby. His father is listed as Robert Lawson, 

joiner. The witnesses were James Lawson (John’s younger half-brother) and M. 

Pickering. 

The 1881 census shows the family living at 7, Gregson Street, West Derby. John is 

described as a “master baker employing 1 assistant” (Albert England, 17, who 

resided with the family). John is described as a baker on the marriage certificate of 

his eldest son, John McIndoe Lawson and as a baker (deceased) on the marriage 

certificate of his other son, William Lawson (21). This would indicate that he died 

sometime between the 29th of August, 1903 and the 23rd of November, 1904. 

However, so far the only (unverified) reference found is for the first quarter of 1902 

(ref: West Derby, 8b 222, March 1902). 

6.46.1.1 Agnes Bell McIdoe (31) was born on the 16th of December, 1843, in The 

Gorbals, Glasgow, the daughter of Robert Muir McIndoe and Agnes Dixon. She 

married John Lawson on the 12th of November, 1872, at Islington Prebyterian 

Church, Liverpool. In 1925, a widow, she emigrated, with the family of her daughter 

Maud, to North Palmerston, New Zealand, where she died on the 25th of April, 

1929.

6.47.1 John McIndoe Lawson (84) was born on the 24th July, 1873 at 7, Gregson Street, 

West Derby. He married Mintie Burstall (85), an actress and elocution teacher on the 

29th August, 1903 at the parish church, Liverpool. John’s address is given as 

Belmont Road. 

The 1881 census shows him living with his parents at 7, Gregson Street, West 

Derby. In 1901 he was living with his mother at Walton–on–the–Hill when his 

occupation was given as “professor of music, vilolinst” They had four children: 



Eric Lawson (90), Colin Lawson (91), Mintie Lawson (93) and Dorothy Lawson (92). 

All the children are believed to have been born in Birkenhead. 

6.47.1.1 From the marriage certificate, Mintie Burstall (85) was born in circa 1876, the 

daughter of Frederick Hampton Burstall (74), a cathederal organist, who was alive at 

the marriage. Her address was given as Beford Street. She died circa 1947 probably 

in Birkenhead. 

The 1881 census for 2, Saltoun Terrace, Poulton cum Seacombe, Cheshire shows 

Frederick H Burstall aged 30 and his family. Frederick is shown as a proffessor of 

music and born in Liverpool. His wife, Martha Wilson Burstall is aged 21 born in 

Harrington, Cumberland. Mintie is show as aged 4 and born at Old Swan, 

Lancashire. 

6.47.2 William Lawson (21) was born on the 24th of March, 1876 at 7, Gregson St., West 

Derby. His birth certificate indicates that the birth was not registered until 2nd of 

June, 1881 on the authority of the Registrar General. No reason is given for the late 

registration. He married Lilian Amelia Baker (see Volume I, 3.8.1) on the 23rd of 

November, 1904, at St. Paul’s, Birkenhead. William is described as a bachelor and 

Shipping Clerk. His age is given as twenty-eight and his address as 100, Belmont 

Road, Liverpool. The witnesses were Walter and George Baker (the bride’s brothers) 

and Agnes Maude Lawson, the groom’s sister. William died on the 20th of January, 

1954, aged seventy-seven, at 12, Heathbank Road, Birkenhead, at which time he 

was described as a Private Secretary (retired). 

The 1881 census shows him living with his parents at 7, Gregson Stret, Wst Derby. 

William and Amelia began their married life at 1, Gregson Street, Birkenhead. The 

1901census shows him living with his mother at Walto–on–the– Hillwhen his 

occupation was givne as “commercial clerk”. A good singer, he met his wife 

through an operatic/choral society. Played snooker. Dabbled in photography - he is 

known to have used colour photography before 1920. Was Company Secretary to 

the White Star Shipping Line with offices in the Liver Building in Liverpool. 

Returning ship’s captains presented him with many mementos of foreign parts [is 

this where Babs and the tropical birds came from?]. Rose to high rank in the 

Freemasons. Family anecdotes indicate that Lilian (16) was not his daughter, 

though he recognised her as such in every way up to her twenty-first birthday 

when she was summarily dismissed from the home. Norah Lawson (15) was always 

considered his favourite, and when she died in 1919, just before her thirteenth 

birthday, William was devastated. When, in the following year, his beloved elder 

brother, John (84), committed suicide, William suffered a mental breakdown. He 

left his home and was missing for eight days, finally appearing on the doorstep of an 

old school friend in Llangollen. Apparently he walked from Birkenhead to 

Llangollen. Although he recovered to some extent, he was never completely normal 

again. Kept a pet chimpanzee around 1925, which lived with the family. The chimp, 

Babs, was taken to the Isle of Man on a summer holiday when the family rented a 

cottage at Braddan. At one time he turned a bedroom into a tropical aviary and 

amassed one the best collection of tropical birds in England. At some time in the late 

1920s or early 1930s William and Lilian separated. 

6.47.3 Agnes Maud Lawson (86) was born on the 7th of February, 1883, at 7, Gregson 

St., West Derby. The 1901 census shows her living with her mother at 

Walton–on–the–Hill. At the time of her marriage in 1912 she was described as a 

“society entertainer”. She was living at 18, India Street, Glasgow, when she married 

John Oswald Telford at 109, Bath Street, Blythswood, Glasgow on the 7th of March, 

1912. Her death has not yet been traced.

The family, together with Maud’s widowed mother, Agnes Bell McIndoe (31), 

emigrated to New Zealand in 1925, settling in Palmerston North. Agnes Lawson’s


(McIndoe) death certificate of 1929 makes mention of a daughter aged 39 years and 

a son aged 47 years. Maud would have been 46 at the time of her mother’s death and 

her brothers would have been even older. Possibly the ages on the certificate refer to 

Maud and her husband, John Telford (who would have been around 40 at the time), 

and were recorded in reverse order. 

A search by Francis Stewart of the New Zealand records has not produced a death 

for Agnes Telford nee Lawson. It is possible that the family returned to Scotland 

after the death of Agnes’s mother and son. A search of the Scottish death records 

has not yet been made. 

6.47.3.1 John Oswald Telford (87) was born circa 1888, probably in Fife, Scotland. He 

was the son of Robert Telford, a draper, and Helen Oswald. He married Agnes Maud 

Lawson at Blythswood, Glasgow, on the 7th of March, 1912, at which time he was 

decribed as a draper and living at 37, High Street, Inverkeithing. The family 

emigrated to New Zealand in 1925. He appears to have settled in Palmerston North 

and in the summer of 1929 was living at 133, Fitzherbert Avenue. The city directory 

indicates that he continued his trade as a draper. His death has not yet been traced. 

A search by Frances Stewart of the New Zealand records has not produced a death 

for John Telford. It is possible that the family returned to Scotland. A search of the 

Scottish records has not yet been made.

6.48.1 Eric Lawson (90) appears to have been born in the last quarter of 1905 (Ref: Dec 

1905, W. Derby, 8b 549). He was a violinist with the B.B.C. symphony orchestra. 

6.48.2 Colin Hampton Lawson (91) is believed to have died in Balboa, Panama, some 

time after September 1936 at which time he was a witness at the wedding of his 

sister Dorothy. 

6.48.3 Mintie Lawson (93) married a frenchman and moved to France. She is believed to 

have died in France during or shortly after the Second World War. 

6.48.4 Dorothy Gertrude Lawson (92) was born on the 27th of August, 1909 at 16, St. 

James Road, Birkenhead when her father is described as a violinist. She married 

Ronald King (429), at the parish church of St. James, New Brighton, Cheshire, on 

the 7th of September, 1936. The witnesses were Kenneth King and Colin Hampton 

Lawson. The groom’s address was given as 11, Field Way, Wallasey and his 

profession as “Insurance Clerk”. Dorothy’s address is given as “21, St. James Road, 

New Brighton”.

6.49.1 Lilian Lawson (16) was born on the 9th November 1905. Although having a 

normal childhood, she was summarily dismissed from the house by her father, 

William (22), on her twenty-first birthday with the comment that she was no longer 

his daughter. Family gossip maintains that her father was Frank Redman. 

Lilian left for Canada in 1929, settling in the Montreal area. She set up as a 

hairdresser and kept a rooming house. On the 29th August 1931 she married Frank 

Lewis (20) who was born on the 11th of January 1901 at Birkenhead. She pursued a 

career in the beauty salon business, rising to high regard in the Holt Renfrew stores. 

Her husband, Frank, died in 195.. Lilian continued to live in the Notre Dame de 

Grace area of Montreal until 1978 when she moved to Beaconsfield. She died in a 

nursing home in Pierfonds, Quebec, on the 13th May 1991. 

6.49.2 Norah Lawson (15) was born on the 2nd November 1906. She died on the 29th 

October 1919, just three days short of her thirteenth birthday, from the effects of 

cancer. 

6.49.3 Helen Lawson (14) was born on the 25th June 1909. She trained as a Montessori 

teacher and acted as governess to several families before the Second World War. She 

spent some time in Sweden with one family. During the war she worked in the 

Foreign Office, during which time she met Fred Wray. At the time, Fred, a Roman 

Catholic, was married and unable/unwilling to get a divorce. He was an expert 

fish-fryer from the North of England. Fred and Helen lived as man and wife for the 

rest of their lives. Initially they settled after the War in Welling, Kent but shortly 

moved to Southend-on-Sea, Essex. For many years they lived at 5 Eastern 

Esplanade in an apartment above a Fish & Chip shop in which they worked (Clarke’s 

later Bailey’s). There was one son, Michael (362), who was born in 1946 and did not 

survive infancy. Helen suffered for many years from severe deafness and, in the last 

three or four years of her life, progressive blindness. She died in the early hours of 

the 3rd of July, 1995, at Southend-on-Sea. 

6.49.3.1 Frederick Stafford Wray (19) was born on the 6th October 1896 in Leeds, 

Yorkshire. He is believed to have married and had two daughters before meeting 

Helen during the Second World War. No details of this first marriage are available. 

He died in the third quarter of 1976 in Southend-on-Sea (ref: Southend, 9, 2197, 

Sept 1976). 

6.49.4 William Lawson (13) was born on the 28th of July, 1916, at Birikenhead. He 

married Isabel Agnes Kinrade on the 9th of August, 1936, at St. George, Douglas. He 

died on the 28th of June, 1981, at Toronto, Ontario. See 3.1.1 for further details.

6.50.1 Robert Oswald Colin Telford (88) was born at 2:45 p.m.on the 28th of May, 1913 

at 42, Prestont Crescent, Inverkeithing, Fife, Scotland. He emigrated to New 

Zealand with his parents in 1925. He died in hospital on the 21st of July, 1929, 

probably of bone cancer in the left leg. 

6.50.2 Cynthia Maud Telford (89) was born at 3:40 p.m. on the 4th of June, 1916, at Park 

House, Bank Street, Inverkeithing, Fife, Scotland. She emigrated to New Zealand in 

1925 with her parents and grand-mother. No further details are available.

Liverpool. This was a late baptism as she was born circa 1871. 

6.60.5 Alice Jane Lawson (5714) was baptized on the 2nd of March, 1874, at St. Peter, 

Liverpool. She was employed as a domestic servant at the 1891 census. She married 

Thomas Wright. 

6.60.6 Gertrude Lawson (5715) was born on the 16th of December, 1876, at 5, Jackson 

Street, Toxteth Park, West Derby, Lancashire. In 1891 she was employed as a 

draper’s apprentice. She married Thomas Corrin on the 8th of April, 1901, at St. 

James, Walton-on-the-Hill, Toxteth Park. She died in 1933.
