mentioned in her mother’s Will of 1791.

3.4.7 Daniel Kinread (4796) was named executor in his mother’s Will of 1791. A
baptism has not been found.

3.4.9 Ann Kinread was (4798) baptized on the 1st of August, 1751, at Jurby. She
married Thomas Killey on the 28th of April, 1780, at Jurby. She was left a gown and

3.5.3 William Kinread (4271) was baptized on the 12th of November, 1769, at
Maughold. He married Ann Creetch (see Volume V, 3.22.5) on the 9th of December,
1816, at Maughold (the IGI has Ann’s name as Creed). In 1841 he was farming at
Ballachrink, Maughold. His age was given as 62 years. In 1851 he was still farming
20 acres at Ballachrink but his age was given as 82 years. He died in 1853 and was
buried at Maughold on the 1st of November. See 3.6 for details of his descendants.
3.5.4 Robert Kinread (4255) was baptized on the 15th of April, 1771, at Maughold.
3.5.5 John Kinread (4256) was baptized on the 2nd of May, 1773, at Maughold. He
married Joney/Judith Corlett on the 29th of July, 1797, at Lezayre. See 3.11 for
details of his descendants.
3.5.5.1 Joney Corlett (4260) was baptized on the 23rd of July, 1775, at Andreas, the
daughter of William Corlett & Catherine Crinolt. See 3.11 for details of her
descendants.
3.5.5.1.1 William Corlett married Catherine Cowin/Crinolt on the 15th of January, 1774,
at Andreas. Two children have been identified: Joney, bp, 23rd July, 1775,

3.6.1 William Kinrade (4273) was baptized on the 7th of March, 1819, at Maughold. In
1841 he was living with his parents on the family farm at Ballachrink, Maughold.
He married Alice Kelly (see Volume I, 11.5.8) on the 20th of December, 1845, at
Maughold. In 1851 he was farming 18 acres at Ballachrink, Maughold. By 1861 he
was farming 40 acres. By 1881 the farm had increased to 60 acres. He died on the 9th
of June, 1892, and was buried at Maughold. See 3.7 for details of his descendants.
3.6.2 John Kinrade (4274) was born circa 1821. In 1841 he was living with his parents
at Ballachrink, Maughold, and employed as an apprentice shoemaker. He married
Mary Brew on the 4th of March, 1848, at Maughold. In 1851, a master shoemaker,
he and his young family were living at Ballachrink, Maughold. The family have not
been identified in the 1861 census but they reappear in 1871 at Ballachrink,
Maughold, when John is now employed as a miner. By 1881 the family is living at
Corna Hill, Maughold and John is once again employed as a shoemaker. In 1891 he
and his wife were living at 3,Mill Cottage, Maughold. See 3.8 for details of his
descendants.
3.6.2.1 Mary Ann Brew (4357) was baptized on the 12th of November, 1826, at
Maughold, the daughter of John Brew and Elinor Crogahan. In 1841 she was living
with James & Catherine Croghan at Ballafayle, Maughold. See 3.8 for details of her
descendants.
3.6.3 Thomas Kinrade (4275) was born in January, 1825, at Maughold. In 1841 he was
living with his parents at Ballachrink, Maughold. In 1851 he was living with his
parents on the family farm at Ballachrink.
3.6.4 Daniel Kinrade (4276) was baptized on the 7th of July, 1827, at Maughold. He did
not survive infancy and was buried on the 25th of June, 1828, at Maughold.
3.6.5 Mary Ann Kinrade (4277) was baptized on the 31st of May, 1829, at Maughold.
She died of smallpox and was buried on the 19th of February, 1830, at Maughold.
3.6.6 Elizabeth Kinrade (4278) was baptized on the 13th of February, 1831, at
Maughold. She married John Corkill on the 14th of October, 1854, at Maughold.
She was buried at Maughold on the 10th of August, 1912, when her age was
recorded as 82 years. See 3.9 for details of her descendants.
In 1841 she was living with her parents at Ballachrink, Maughold. In 1851 she was
living on the family farm at Ballachrink.
3.6.6.1 John Corkill (6761) was baptized on the 22nd of October, 1826, at Maughold,
the son of John Corkill & Elinor Cowin, who married on the 4th of November, 1815,
at Maughold. He married Elizabeth Kinrade on the 14th of October, 1854, at
Maughold. He was buried at Maughold on the 2nd of April, 1910, when his age was
recorded as 84 years. See 3.9 for details of his descendants.
In 1841 he was living with his parents on the family farm at Dreemskerry at which
time he was apprenticed as a tailor. He appears not to have pursued the trade as in
1851 he was living with his parents at Ballasloe and employed as an agricultural labourer.
In 1861 he and his family were living at Cornah. In 1871 the family were living
in Maughold (no specific address, ? Dhoon) and he was employed as a lead
miner. In 1881 the family were farming 35 acres at Dhullin. In 1891 the family were
farming at Ballagilley. In 1901 the family were still farming at Ballagilley.
3.6.7 Margaret Kinrade (4279) was baptized on the 5th of June, 1836, at Maughold.
She married Robert Kneale on the 8th of March, 1862, at Maughold.

family were living at Ballachrink.
3.6.7.1 Margaret Ann Corkhill (7090) was baptized on the 27th of June, 1858, at
Maughold, when only her mother’s name was recorded. The family have not been
located i the 1861 census. In 1871 she was living with her mother and step–family at
Ballachrink, Maughold. In the 1881 census she is recorded at Mary Ann Kneale,
daughter aged 23.
3.6.7.2 Robert Kneale (6721) was born circa 1835 at Lezayre. He married Margaret
Kinrade on the 8th of March, 1862, at Maughold.
In 1871 he and his family wre living at Ballachrink, Maughold, when he was employed
as a lead miner. By 1881 the family had moved to England and were living at
Brow Foot, Arlecdon, Cumberland, when he was employed as an iron miner.
3.6.8 Mary Ann Kinrade (4280) was baptized on the 24th of December, 1839, at
Maughold. In 1841 she was living with her parnts at Ballachrink, Maughold. She
did not survive childhood and was buried on the 28th of January, 1845, at
Maughold aged five years.

the 26th of April, 1834, at Jurby. She died before the census of 1881 but a burial has
not been located.
3.11.2 Daniel Kinrade (4262) was baptized on the 19th of July, 1807, at Ramsey. He
married Margaret Corkill on the 12th of November, 1831, at Maughold. He was
buried at Maughold on the 2nd of April, 1872.
In 1841 he was an agricultural labourer living with his wife and family at Ballafayle,
Maughold. In 1851 he was farming 4 acres at Balladromma Beg, Maughold. In 1861
he was keeping the Post Office at Creg–ne–Smolt, Maughold. Margaret Kinrade
aged 4, a grand–daughter, was living with the family. In 1871, a widower, he was
living at the Post Office, Maughold, though his occupation was given as labourer.
His 14 years old grand–daughter, Margaret, is living with him. See 3.12 for details
of his descendants.

3.12.1 John Kinrade (4264) was baptized on the 9th of June, 1833, at Maughold. In 1841
he was living with his parents at Ballafayle, Maughold. In 1851 he was a servant
living at the home of Daniel Kermode in Bride.
3.12.2 Margaret Kinrade (4265) was baptized on the 22nd of February, 1835, at
Maughold. She married Thomas Kennish on 6th of February, 1864, at Maughold.
The couple have not been found in the 1871 census but there is a burial for Margaret
Kennish, aged 29, on the 21st of February, 1865, at Maughold.
She has not been positively identified in the 1841 census but may have been living
with William Sayle on Ballakilley, Maughold. In 1851 she appears to be working as
a housemaid for Thomas Kermode at Balladromma Beg, Maughold. In 1861 she was
living, unmarried, togethr with her daugher, with her parents and employed as a
servant.
Thomas Kennish has not yet been identified.
3.12.2.1 Margaret Kinrade (6418) was baptized on the 1st of June, 1856, at Maughold.
Only her mother’s name was recorded. In 1861 she was living with her mother at her
grand–parents’s home, Creg-ne-Moult. In 1871 she was living with her widowered
grand–father at the Post Office, Maughold.
3.12.3 Ann Jane Kinrade (4266) was baptized on the 15th of January, 1837, at
Maughold. In 1841 she was living with her parents at Ballafayle, Maughold. In
1851 she was living with her parents at Balladromma Beg, Maughold. She married
John Radcliffe (see Volume I, 14.16.1) on the 6th of December, 1863, at Braddan. She
was buried at Maughold on the 2nd of August, 1905. See Volume I, 14.17 for details
of her descendants.
3.12.4 Daniel Kinrade (4267) was baptized on the 30th of March, 1841, at Maughold. In
1841 he was living with his parents at Ballafayle, Maughold. In 1851 he was living
with his parents at Balladromma Beg, Maughold. In 1871 an unemployed miner, he
is living with his widowered father at the Post Office, Maughold. He has not been
found in the 1881 or later censuses.
3.12.5 Judith Kinrade (4268) was baptized on the 24th of July, 1844, at Maughold. She
did not survive childhood.

3.21.2 Ellinor Keig (5122) was born circa 1700. She married John Kinread on the 4th of
July, 1727, at Ballaugh. She died in 1741 and was buried at Ballaugh on the 26th of
November. See 3.22 for details of her descendants.
Her parents appear to have been John Kegg and his second wife Ellinor Kelly. There
was at least one son of the first marriage, John. There is a possible burial for John on
the 4th of March, 1720-1, at Ballaugh (Will). Ellinor died on the 28th of April, 1721,
at Ballaugh, see Will.
From her father’s and her mother’s Wills of 1721 we know she had at least two
sisters, Joney and Mary.
3.21.2.1 John Kegg was born circa 1680. from his Will in 1721 there appears to have
been two children from his first marriag, John and Bessy (Elizabeth).. There were at
least two children from his second marriage, Nelly (Eleanor) and Mary

inherited 5s under her mother’s Will of 1741. She died in 1748 and was buried at
Ballaugh on the 3rd of June. The 3s 7d expended on her funeral was deducted from
her inheritance and the remaining 1s 5d was divided between her surviving sisters.

3.24.1 Patience Kinrade (2378) was baptized on the 18th of January, 1778, at Jurby. She
married Patrick Lawson on the 16th of December, 1815, at Jurby, see Volume II,
1.27.1. She was buried on the 1st of April, 1862, at Jurby, when her age was
recorded as 83 years.
No issue of the marriage have been traced. At the census of 1841 she was a widow
living with her unmarried sister, Isabel, at Jurby. At the census of 1851 she was
visiting at the home of her sister and brother–in–law William Qualtrough, a
freehold farmer at Corvally, Rushen. In 1861 she was living with her niece Jane and
husband at Creggans, Lezayre.
3.24.2 John Kinrade (2852) was baptized on the 25th of February, 1780, at Jurby. He
married Catherine Crellin on the 7th of November, 1797, at Ballaugh. He died before
the census of 1841. See 3.25 for details of his descendants.
3.24.2.1 Catherine Crellin (3448) was baptized on the 31st of August, 1769, at Ballaugh,
the daughter of Thomas Crellin & Catherine Taggart. She married John Kinrade on
the 7th of November, 1797, at Ballaugh. In 1841 she was living at Carmodil Beg,
Ballaugh, apparently a widow. Her age as given as 70 and her occupation as linen
spinner. She died in 1843 and was buried at Ballaugh on the 21st of March, when her
age was given as 74 years. See 3.25 for details of her descendants.
3.24.3 Isabel Kinrade (2853) was baptized on the 25th of March, 1781, at Jurby. She
married William Qualtrough on the 4th of June, 1844, at Jurby (his 3rd wife). She
was buried at Rushen on the 10th of November, 1870, when her age was recoreded
as 90 years.
At the census of 1841 she was living at Jurby with her widowed sister. After her
marriage to William she moved to Corvally, Rushen, where she was living at the
1851 census. In 1861 she was living with her husband at Corvaley.

3.25.1 William Kinread (3449) was baptized on the 17th of June, 1798, at Ballaugh. In
1841 he appears to be an agricultural labourer living at Malew Street, Castletown.
Living with him are his younger sister, Catherine, and two of her children. A
William Kinrade aged 17 is also living with him. He has not been identified in the
1851 census.
3.25.2 Thomas Kinread (3450) was baptized on the 3rd of August, 1800, at Ballalugh.
He married Eleanor Crye on the 10th of May, 1828, at Lezayre, see 7.39.2. In 1841, a
labourer, he and his family were living at Old Mill Place, Ramsey. Two children,
Arthur and Ann Skillicorn, were living with the family. They were described as
“pauper’s children”.In 1851 the family were living at Little Cross, Ramsey. A
grand–son, John Woods aged 7 years, is living with the family. The family have not
been found in the 1851 census. See 3.26 for details of his descendants.
3.25.3 Robert Kinrade (3451) was baptized on the 3rd of October, 1802, at Ballaugh. He
married Catherine Corlett on the 28th of October, 1827. A shoemaker, in 1841 he
and his family were living at Gliack, Ballaugh. See 3.27 for details of his
descendants.
3.25.3.1 Catherine Corlett (3454) was born circa 1805. She married Robert Kinrade on
the 28th of October, 1827, at Ballaugh. In 1841 she was living with her husband and
family at Gliack, Ballaugh. She died in 1848 and was buried at Ballaugh on the 20th
of April, aged 42 years. See 3.27 for details of her descendants.
3.25.4 Catherine Kinread (3452) was baptized on the 26th of December, 1804, at
Ballaugh. In 1841 she appears to be living with her eldest brother, William, at
Malew Street, Castletown. She had two children by John Quilliam, though no
marriage has been found. In 1851 she was living with her two children at 74, Malew
Street, Castletown. The family have not been identified in 1861.
3.25.4.1 John Quilliam was born circa 1800. He fathered two children on Catherine
Kinrade.

Ballaugh on the 19th of May, 1851, when his age was recorded as 49 years. See 3.33

In 1841 he was farming with his family at Ballarenny, Lezayre. In 1851 he was
farming 40 acres at Killbreage Lezayre.According to a Memorial Inscription at
Ballaugh (Old Church 238) he died on the 16th of May, 1851, aged 49. His wife Jane
died on the 27th of August, 1878, aged 74 and his son Thomas died on the 12th of
April, 1872, aged 37.
3.32.4 Margaret Kinread (3852) was baptized on the 20th of March, 1807, at Lezayre.
She married Joseph Mylroie on the 18th of August, 1832, at Lezayre. She has not
been found in the 1881 census nor has a burial been found. See 3.37 for details of
her descendants.
3.32.4.1 Joseph Mylroie (6733) was batized on the 8th of September, 1805, at Lonan, the
son of James Mylroie and Ellinor Skillicorn. He married Margaret Kinrade on the the
18th of August, 1832, at Lezayre. See 3.37 for details of his descendants.
In 1841 he and his family were lving at close Moar, Lonan, when he was employed
as a woollen weaver. In 1851 he and his family were farming, freehold, 23 acres at
Ballacosney, Lonan. In 1861 the family were farming 10 acres at Ballacosney. In
1871 the family were farming 12 acres at Ballachosney. He has not been found in the
1881 census nor has a burial been identified.
3.32.5 William Kinread (3853) was baptized on the 29th of November, 1812, at Lezayre.
In 1841 he was living with his parents at Glen Moar and employed as an agricultural
labourer. In 1871 he was living on the farm of his widowed sister–in–law at Killa
Cregga, Lezayre. In 1881 he was living, unmarried, on the farm of his nephew John.
There is a possible burial at Ballaugh on the 5th of April, 1886, when the age is
recorded as 76 years.

employed as a labourer.In 1881 he and his family were living at West Craig Road,
Andreas, when he was employed as an agricultural labourer. In 1891 and 1901 the
family were farming at Greenhill, Andreas.
3.33.2 Thomas Kinread (3856) was baptized on the 11th of June, 1835, at Lezayre. In
1841 and 1851 he was living with his parents at Lezayre. In 1861 he was farming at
Killey Braga, Lezayre, with his widowed mother and siblings. In 1871 he was
farming 90 acres with his widowed mother at Killabregga. He died on the 12th of
April, 1872, aged 37 years, and was buried at Ballaugh on the 15th of April (MI).

married Catherine Ann Killip on the 28th of May, 1881, at Lezayre, see 21.14.1. He
was buried on the 23rd of April, 1902, at Ballaugh when his age was recorded as 64

was recorded as 40 years. He was buried on the 14th of March, 1921, at Lezayre
when his age was recorded as 79 years. See 3.36 for details of his descendants.
In 1851 he was living with his parents at Lezayre. In 1861 he was living with his
widowed mother at Killey Braga, Lezayre. He has not been positively identified in
1871 but was probably on the vessel “Tornado”. In 1881 he was living on the family
farm at Killabraga. In 1891 he and his family were living on his wife’s family farm at
Staward. In 1901 the family were living on the Kneale family’s farm at Ballabrooie,
Lezayre.
3.33.5.1 Sophia Kneal (6380) was baptized on the 15th of October, 1854, at Sulby, the
daughter of William Kneale & Catherine Quayle. She married Robert Kinrade on the
9th of June, 1883, at Lezayre when her age was recorded as 27 years. She was buried
on the 14th of August, 1942, at Lezayre when her age was recorded as 87 years. See

3.33.6 Mary Kinread (3860) was baptized on the 12th of January, 1843, at Sulby. In 1851
she was living with parents at Lezayre. In 1861 she was living with her widowed
mother at Killey Braga, Lezayre.

Sulby. She married John James Hampton (see 19.7.2) on the 10th of February, 1872,

the family of Richard Rowe, the mine manager, Laxey. In 1871 she was a house

In 1841 she was living in Jurby and employed as an agricultural labourer. Her son
John Quayle, aged 3, was living with her. In 1851 she was still employed as a
labourer and her sons John Quayle aged 13 and Robert Kinrade aged 8 are living
with her. In 1861 she was employed as a washerwoman and her son Robert Kinrade
aged 18 is living with her. In 1871 she was employed as a straw hat & bonnet maker
and her grandson Robert Kinrade aged 5 is living with her although he is described
as “nephew”. In 1881 she was living alone at Kerrow Croie and employed as a
labourer.

3.43.3 Louisa Jane Kinrade (6016) was baptized on the 13th of May, 1860, at Lezayre.
She married Edward Faragher on the 29th of September, 1877.
In 1871 she was living with her parents at Milntown. She has not been identified in
1881. In 1891, a widow, she was living with her widowed mother at 2, Ballacollister,
Lonan. In 1901 she was still living with her mother at Holly Bank, South Cape,
Lonan.
3.43.3.1 Edward Faragher (6693) has not yet been identified. He married, Louisa Jane
Kinrade on he 29th of September, 1877.
3.43.4 William Henry Kinrade (6017) was baptized on the 4th of May 1862, at Sulby. In
1871 he was living with his parents at Milntown.
3.43.5 Thomas Kinrade (6018) was baptized on the 19th of June, 1864, at Andreas. He
married Elizabeth Margaret Quine on the 20th of September, 1888, at Lonan (see ).
He was buried at Lonan on the 1st of October, 1893.
In 1871 he was living with his parents at Milntown. in 1881 he was living with his
parents at 78, Glen Road, Laxey, when he was employed as a labourer.
3.43.6 John Kinrade (6019) was baptized on the 23rd of December, 1866, at Andreas. In
1871 he was living with his parents at Milntown. In 1881 he was living with his
parnts at 78, Glen Road, Laxey, when he was employed as a “teacher in school”,
possibly a pupil treacher.
3.43.7 Edward Kinrade (6020) was baptized on the 10th of April, 1870, at Lezayre. In
1871 he was living with his parents at Milntown. n 1881 he was living with his
parentsat 78, Glen Road, Laxey.
3.43.8 Emily Kinrade (6021) was born circa 1875 at Andreas. In 1881 she was living
with her parents at 78, Glen Road, Laxey.

3.45.1 James Edward Faragher (6694) was born on the 20th of August, 1888, at Lonan,
the son of Edward Faragher & Louisa Jane Kinrade. In 1891 he was living with his
widowed mother at the home of his gran–mother at 2, Ballacollister. In 1901 they
were living at Holly Bank, South Cape.
3.45.2 Thomas Faragher (6695) was born on the 18th of November, 1898, at Lonan.
Only his mother’s name was given. In 1901 he was living with his mother and family
at Holly Bank, South Cape

3.46.1 Thomas Kinrade (6342) was born circa 1888 at Laxey. In 1891 he was living with
his parents at 67, Minorca. In 1901 he was living with his mother and step–father at
Minorca.
3.46.2 John Kinrade (6343) was born on the 3rd of August, 1890, at Laxey. In 1891 he
was living with his parents at 67, Minorca. He did not survive childhood and was
buried on the 24th of December, 1893, at Lonan when his age was recorded as 3
years.
3.46.3 William Kinrade (6696) was born on the 28th of January, 1893, at Laxey. He did
not survive infancy and was buried on the 13th of August, 1893, at Lonan when his
age was recorded as six months.
3.47 John Kinrade—1866
3.47.1 Ellenor Stephen (7014) was baptizedon the 11th of October, 1819, at Ballaugh,
the daughter of William Stephen and Elizabeth Cowan. Though she never married,
at least two children are known.
In 1841 she appears to have been living on the farm of Thomas Cowin at Ballasalla,
Jurby. In 1851 she was living on Intack at Ballaugh and was employed as a wool
spinner. In 1861 she was liivng at Lough Dhoo, Ballaough and was employed as a
spinner. In 1871 she was living at Acre, Jurby, with her unmarried children and
grand–son. At this time she was reored as “fisherman’s mother”. In 1881 she was
living at Ballasalla, Jurby, with her unmarried daughter and gradn–son, when she
was recorded as a pauper. In 1891 she was living with her unmarried daughter and
grand–son at Ballakeig, Ballaugh, when she was in receipt of Parish Relief.

3.48.1 William Quiggin (7016) was baptized on the 25th of January, 1837, at Ballaugh,
the son of William Quiggin (7015) and Ellenor Stephen. Although the names of
both parnts were recorded no marriage has been found for his parents and his
mother was always recorded as “unmarried” in the census returns.
In 1841 he appears to have been living with Ann Kelly at Crote Davy Steene,
Ballaugh. In 1851 he was living with his unmarried mother on an Intack in
Ballaugh. In 1861 he was living with his mother at Lough Dhoo, Ballaugh, and was
employed as an agricultural labourer.
3.48.2 Elizabeth Gill (7017) was baptized on the 29th of January, 1846 at Ballaugh. Only
her mother’s name was recorded.
In 1851, as Betsy, she was living with her unmarried mother on an Intack in
Ballaugh. In 1861 as Elizabeth Gale she was working as an house servant to Jane
Kelly at Lhergy Rhenny, Lezayre. In 1871 she was living with her unmarried mother
and son at Acre, Jurby, when she was employed as a farm labourer. In 1881 she was
living with her unmarried mother and son in a cottage at Ballasalla, Jurby, when she
was employed as a general servant. In 1891 she was living with her unmarried
mother and son at Ballakeig, Ballaugh, when she was employed as a farm servant. In
1901 she was living at Ballakinnag, Ballaugh, and was employed as an agricultrual
labourer.
3.48.3 Robert Stephen was baptized on the 21st of February, 1852, at Ballaugh. Only his
mother’s name was recorded. In 1861 he was living with his unmarried mother at
Lough Dhoo, Ballaugh.

3.49.1 John Kinrade (7018) was baptized on the 30th of September, 1866, at Jurby.
In 1871 he was living with his unmarried mother at Acre, Jurby. In 1881 he was
lving with his unmarried mother in a cottage at Ballasalla, Jurby. In 1891 he was
living with his unmarried mother and grand–mother at Ballakeig, Ballaugh, when
he was employed as an agricultural labourer. He has not been indentified inthe 1901
census.
