8.1 Ellin Corlett—1843
8.1.1 William Cowin (7055) was born circa 1790 at Maughold. He married Ann Looney
on the 19th of November, 1814, at Maughold. He was buried at Maughold on the
6th of August, 1858, when his age was recorded as 68 years.
A mariner, in 1842 he and his family were living in Port–e–Vullen, Maughold. In
1851 the family were living in Port–e–Vullen
8.1.2 Ann Looney (7056) was born circa 1796 at Maughold. She married William
Cowin on the 19th of November, 1814, at Maughold. She died before the census of
1861, possible burial at Maughold on the 30th of April, 1860, when her age was
redcorded as 60 years.

1841 he was living with his parents at Port–e–Vullen and was employed as a tailor.
In 1851 he was living with his parents at Port–e–Vullen.
8.2.3 Jemetta Cowin (7059) was baptized on the 17th of August, 1819, at Maughold.
8.2.4 Elinor Cowin (7060) was baptized on the 25th of April, 1822, at Maughold.
Margaret Cowin (7061) was baptized on the 1st of October, 1824, at Maughold. She
had an illegitamate daughter by William Corlett before her marriage to Enos
Radcliffe on the 22nd of November, 1851, at Maughold.
In 1841 she was living with her parents at Port–e–Vullen.
8.2.4.1 William Corlett (7066) was born circa 1820. In 1841 he was living with the
Cowin family at Port–e–Vullen when he was employed as a tailor.
8.2.4.2 Enos Radcliffe (7070) was born circa 1831 at Andreas. He married Margaret
Cowin on the 22nd of November, 1851, at Maughold.
8.2.5 Robert Cowin (7062) was baptized on the 22nd of July, 1827, at Maughold. In
1841 he was living with is parents at Port–e–Vullen.
8.2.6 Edward Cowin (7063) was baptized on the 16th of December, 1830, at Maughold.

8.4.1 Thomas Henry Kinrade (7068) was baptized on the 30th of August, 1863, at
Maughold. Only his mother’s name was recorded at the baptism but he appears as
Kinrade in the census returns.
In 1871 he was living with his mother at the home of his Cowin great–uncles in
Port–e–Vullen. In 1881 he was living with his mother at Shore House, Maughold.
8.4.2 William Kinrade (7069) was baptized onthe 26th of September, 1865, at
Maughold.Only his mother’s name was recorded at the baptism but he appears as
Kinrade in the census returns.
In 1871 he was living with his mother at the home of his Cowin great–uncles in

8.6 Elizabeth Corkill—1845
8.6.1 William Corkill (7071) was born circa 1800 at Maughold.He married Catherine
Corkill on the the 25th of June, 1831, at Maughold. He was buried at Maughold on
the 2nd of April, 1867, when his age was recorded as 67 years.
In 1841 he and his family were farming at Ballagilley, Maughold. In 1851 the family
were farming 18 acres at Ballagilley. In 1861 the family were farming 100 acres at
Ballagilley.
8.6.1.1 Isabella Callow aged 9 months was living with the famly in 1851. She was
described as a grand–daughter. She was living with the family in 1861. In 1871 she
appears to have been working as a cook for William Haslam, MHK. There is a
possible marriage to James Corkill on the 12th of July, 1873, at Maughold.
8.6.2 Catherine Corkill (7072) was born circa 1806 at Maughold. She married William
Corkill on the 25th of June, 1831, at Maughold.
In 1871, a widow, she was living in a cottage at Cronk–ne–Cahil with her unmarried
daughter and three grand–children

8.8.1 Thomas Harrison was born circa 1864 at Maughold. A baptism has not been
found. In 1871 he was living with grand–mother at Cronk–ne–Cahil. He has not
been found in any other cenus. Elizabeth may not have been his mother.
8.8.2 Rubana Kinrade (7078) was baptized on the 21st of April, 1870, at Dhoon,
Maughold, though she appears to have been born in 1868. In 1871 she was living
with her mother at her grand–mother’s home at Cronk–ne–Cahil. In 1881 she was
living with her uncle John at Ballachrink, Patrick. In 1891 she was working on the
farm of Daniel Creer at 64, Ballacallin, Patrick. She has not been identified in the
1901 census.
8.8.3 Frederick Kinrade (7079) was baptized on the 21st of April, 1870, at Dhoon,
Maughold. Only his mother’s name was recorded. In 1871 he was living with his

mother at his grand–mother’s home at Cronk–ne–Cahil. In 1881 he was working on
the farm of William Cowley at Ballacragga, Michael. He has not been identified in
the 1891 or 1901 censuses. No burial has been identified.
8.9 Ann Brew—1805
8.9.1 Ann Brew (7087) was born circa 1805 at Andreas. She had two childen by an
unknown Kinrade before her marriage to John Corlett on the 25th of November,
1851, at Andreas.
In 1851 she was living at Ballaghoner, Andreas, with her two children and was
employed as a spinster. In 1861, a widow, she was living with her two children at
Tear’s Cottage, Jurby, when she was employed as an agricultural labourer. In 1871
she was living at Brown’s House, Jurby, and employed as an agricultural labourer.
In 1881 she was living at Leheaney Voar, Jurby.

8.11.1 Hugh Boyde (7098) was born circa 1790 at Michael. He married Esther Corkhill
on the 13th of June, 1823, at German. He was buried at Ballaugh on the 7th of June,
1863, when his age was recorded as 71 years.
8.11.2 Esther Corkill (7099) was born circa 1803 at German. She married Hugh Boyde
on the 13th of June, 1823, at German. She was buried at Ballaugh on the 22nd of
September, 1867, when her age was recorded as 64 years.

8.12.1.1 Eliza Kinrade (7105) was baptized on the 1st of December, 1847, at Ballaugh.
Only her mother’s name was recorded.
8.12.2 John Boyde (7101) was born circa 1826 at Ballaugh
8.12.3 Charles Boyde (7102) was baptized on the 23rd of August, 1829, at Ballaugh.
8.12.4 Charlotte Boyde (7103) was born circa 1831 at Ballaugh.
8.12.5 Thomas Boyde (7104) was baptized on the 28th of August, 1836, at Ballaugh.
8.13 Edwin Cox
8.13.1 Edwin Cox (7107) was born circa 1807 in England. In the 1851 census he was
living in a cottage at Port Soderick. His occupation was given as “annuitant”. He
does not appear in the 1841 or 1861 censuses for the Island and no burial has been
located.
8.13.2 Elizabeth Kinread (7106) was baptized in February, 1821, at Bride, the daughter
of William.
In 1841 she was living with Elizabeth Clark at Glenrushen, Patrick. In 1851 she was
a servant to Edwin Cox at Port Soderick. In 1861 she was living with her son at
Kewaigue Village, Braddan. At this time she is described as a “widow” but was
using the name Kinrade. Neither she nor her son have been found in the 1871
census.

his family were living at 11, King Street, Douglas, when he was employed as an hotel

as a bill poster. The family have not been found in the 1901 census.

8.15.1 Ann Elizabeth Cox
8.16 Ann Lord—1834
8.16.1 John Lord (6753) was born circa 1802 at Lezayre. He married Margaret Christian
on the 17th of November, 1827, at Lezayre. He was buried at Lonan on the 11th of
July, 1889, when his age was recorded as 81 years.
In 1841 he and his family were living at Boily Vane, Lonan, when he was employed
as a lead miner. In 1851 the family were living at Cronk–e–Chule, Lonan. in 1861 the
family were framing 10 acres at 5, Gretch Voar. In 1871 the family were living at
Brooillie Moar, Lonan, when he was employed as a miner. In 1881, a widower, he
was living at 15, Rensell, and was employed as a lead ore washer.
8.16.2 Margaret Christian (6754) was born circa 1800 at Bride. She married John Lord
on the 17th of November, 1827, at Lezayre. She was buried at Lonan on the 13th of
July, 1880, when her age was recorded as 83 years.

with her parents at Cronk–e–Chule. In 1861 she was living with her parents at 5,
Gretch Voar, and was employed as a general servant. in 1871 she was living with her
husband and step–children at 64, Laxey Glen. In 1881 the family were living at 49,
Glen Road, Lonan. In 1891, a widow, she was living with her children at 30, Laxey
Glen. She has not been found in the 1901 census.
8.17.4 John Lord was baptized on the 17th of January, 1837, at Lonan. He did not
survive infancy.
8.17.5 Eleanor Lord was baptized on the 18th of February, 1838, at Lonan. In 1841 she
was living with her parents at Boily Vane, Lonan. In 1851 she was living with her
parents at Cronk–e–Chule.

grandparent’s home 5, Gretch Voar, Lonan. In 1871 as Lord he was living with his
grand–parents at Borillie Moar. In 1881 as Kinrade he was living with his mother
and step–father, Dickinson, at 49, Glen Road, Lonan, when he was employed as a
lead miner. In 1891 as Dickinson he was living with his widowed mother and
half–siblings at 30, Laxey Glen, when he was employed as a labourer. He has not
been identified in the 1901 census.
8.19 Jane Kinrade—1825
8.19.1 Margaret Corlett (6442) was born circa 1801 at Maughold. She married John
Corlett on the 18th of August, 1830, at Maughold.
Before her marriage she had an illegitimate daughter, Jane. The name of the father
has not been definitely established, but from later census entries his surname was
Kinrade.
8.19.2 John Corlett (6443) was born circa 1804 at Maughold. He married Margaret
Corlett on the 18th of August, 1830, at Maughold.
