a contract relating to risks outside of Trinidad<br />

and Tobago;<br />

a contract relating only to loss of, or damage to, goods<br />

in foreign or international transit;<br />

a contract of reinsurance;<br />

a contract relating to group life insurance;<br />

a contract relating to group health insurance; and<br />

a contract under which a policy holder is a resident of Trinidad and<br />

Tobago who has attained the age of sixty years. Finance Act 2002*<br />

(1)(A) Paragraph (h) of Section 54(1) shall be deemed to have come into<br />

effect from 14 th September 20<strong>01</strong> Finance Act 2002*<br />

(2) Where (apart from this subsection) anything received under a contract<br />

by the insurer would be taken to be an installment of a premium, it<br />

shall be deemed to be a separate premium.<br />

(3) Where anything is received by any person on behalf of the insurer<br />

(in this Part referred to as “an intermediary”) -<br />

(a) it shall, except for the purposes of sections 58<br />

and 59(1), be treated as received by the insurer<br />

when it is received by the intermediary; and<br />

(b)<br />

the later receipt of the whole or any part of it by<br />

the insurer shall be disregarded.<br />

(4) Where -<br />

(a)<br />

a payment under a taxable insurance contract is made to<br />

an intermediary; and<br />
