Stages of Requirements Engineering, An Overview of “What to Do ?”
[9] Requirements Validation
• The purpose of this stage of development
⋆ which normally comes after proper completion of a requirements document,
⋆ is to make sure that what has been prescribed is actually what the relevant
requirements stakeholder have requested.
• The validation process is necessarily informal in that it relies sôlely on the
narrative prescriptions
⋆ as these are the only ones that all requirements stakeholders understand.
• For more specifics on this topic we refer to Slides 683–683.
• For the example ‘requirements validation’ document we refer to Appendix
Slides 1252–1252.
