Community Centers
T
he Jerusalem Foundation has supported community
centers in each neighborhood of the city since its inception.
These physical institutions need to be updated and
renovated in order to ensure quality community programming
throughout Jerusalem. Community strength must be
built from within and developed through outreach and
solid networks of support. However, programming is
also dependent on a reasonable physical infrastructure
that is maintained and made available for the use of the
entire community.
Currently, the Jerusalem Foundation seeks to expand the
community services campus of Pisgat Ze’ev, an outlying
neighborhood with a large population, to renovate and
add additional space to the community center in Kiryat
Menachem after more than 40 years of use and to build
a large new community center in Har Nof, a growing
ultra-orthodox community that needs a center that responds
to the changing needs of the neighborhood.
Funding needed: $1.5 to 7 million
