Dear Friends,<br />
The <strong>Jerusalem</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> is an independent, apolitical<br />
community foundation that endeavors to respond<br />
to the changing needs of <strong>Jerusalem</strong> and all its<br />
residents. The <strong>Jerusalem</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> was established<br />
in 1966 by Teddy Kollek, then the newly elected<br />
Mayor, and has since invested in <strong>Jerusalem</strong> over<br />
$1 billion in all spheres of life.<br />
Over 40 years ago the <strong>Jerusalem</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> was<br />
charged with carrying out Teddy’s vision and<br />
changing the face of the city. In addition to initiating<br />
programs that have empowered weak communities,<br />
cared for the elderly, upgraded education on all<br />
levels and provided access to cultural programs for<br />
all, the <strong>Jerusalem</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> has established the<br />
majority of the city’s cultural facilities and community<br />
centers, old age facilities, health centers, parks and<br />
gardens. The <strong>Jerusalem</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> built <strong>Jerusalem</strong><br />
with the help of friends around the world. In these<br />
pages you will find some of the many physical<br />
projects that still need to be built in <strong>Jerusalem</strong>.<br />
