GETTING TO ABU DHABI<br />

Most international visitors arrive at <strong>Abu</strong><br />

<strong>Dhabi</strong> International Airport – the Gateway<br />

to <strong>Abu</strong> <strong>Dhabi</strong>. This award-winning facility<br />

is half an hour’s drive from downtown <strong>Abu</strong><br />

<strong>Dhabi</strong> and only a 40-minute drive from<br />

Dubai. An increasing number of national<br />

and international carriers now fly to <strong>Abu</strong><br />

<strong>Dhabi</strong> International Airport. They include<br />

- Air France, British Airways, Cathay<br />

Pacific, Czech Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa,<br />

Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines,<br />

Ukraine International Airlines and V<br />

Australia. Regional carriers serving <strong>Abu</strong><br />

<strong>Dhabi</strong> International Airport include:<br />

Bahrain Air, Egypt Air, Gulf Air, Kuwait<br />

Airways, Middle East Airlines, Oman Air,<br />

Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, Royal<br />

Arab Airlines and Jazeera Airways. Etihad<br />

Airways, the multi-award-winning<br />

national airline of the UAE flies from more<br />

than 60 destinations throughout the<br />

The airport has a new, state-of-the-art<br />

Terminal 3 which is dedicated to Etihad,<br />

and Terminal 1 has been upgraded to the<br />

same standard.<br />

Citizens of 33 countries are issued with a<br />

free-of-charge VISIT VISA on entry to the<br />

UAE - UK, France, Italy, Germany, the<br />

Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg,<br />

Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway,<br />

Denmark, Portugal, Ireland, Greece,<br />

Finland, Malta, Spain, Monaco, Vatican,<br />

Iceland, Andorra, San Marino,<br />

Liechtenstein, United States, Australia,<br />

New Zealand, Japan, Brunei, Singapore,<br />

Malaysia and Hong Kong. Citizens of other<br />

countries should apply to their nearest<br />

UAE embassy.<br />

Information concerning visa requirements<br />

is subject to change and visitors should<br />

always check with their travel agent or<br />

nearest UAE embassy before travelling.<br />

Eye scan is required for everyone except<br />

GCC citizens and the 33 visa-exempt<br />

nationalities.<br />
