“Formula One – The Great Design” sergisi efsaneleri a¤›rl›yor.<br />

ediliyor. 1968’in Lotus 49’unda ilk kez yüksek arka kanatlar<br />

kullan›ld›. Bir uça¤›n kanatlar›n›n üstlendi¤i görevi tersine<br />

iflleterek otomobilin piste daha iyi yap›flmas›n›, yol tutmas›n›<br />

ve köfleleri daha h›zl› dönmesini sa¤layan bu tasar›m bugünkü<br />

kusursuz fleklini Lotus sayesinde kazand›.<br />

F1 efsaneleri aras›nda yeri en sa¤lamlardan birisi McLaren<br />

tak›m›n›n 1988’de kulland›¤› MP4/4-2 modeli. Araç Aytron<br />

Senna ve Alain Prost taraf›ndan kullan›lm›fl, sezondaki 16<br />

yar›fl›n 15’ini kazanm›flt›. Aerodinamik yap›s›yla h›zl› virajlarda<br />

büyük üstünlük sa¤l›yordu. E¤er Senna, Monza’da tur<br />

bindirece¤i araca çarpmasayd› MP4/4-2 bir sezonun tüm<br />

yar›fllar›n› kazanan tek otomobil olacakt›. En az MP4/4-2<br />

kadar muhteflem bir sezon geçirip, 18 yar›fl›n 15’ini kazanan<br />

Ferrari’nin F 2004’ü, serginin ve F1 dünyas›n›n son efsanesi.<br />

“Maranellodan ç›km›fl en iyi araba” olarak tan›mlanan<br />

F 2004’ün özelli¤i, zaaflar› en aza indirerek, genel<br />

performans› kusursuza ulaflt›rmas›yd›. Temel al›nd›¤›<br />

F2003-GA’n›n yeniden tasarlanm›fl, hafifletilmifl, a¤›rl›k<br />

da¤›l›m› kusursuzlaflt›r›lm›fl haliydi.<br />

Bütün bu tasar›m hikâyeleri flasi ve kokpit aerodinamiklerini<br />

aç›kl›yor, araçlar›n nas›l kusursuzlaflt›¤›n› ortaya koyuyor. Design<br />

Museum, sporun tarihi ve teknolojisine yo¤unlafl›rken di¤er<br />

yandan da Formula 1’de bir tak›m›n sezon boyunca yar›flabilir<br />

k›l›nmas› için yap›lan tüm çal›flmalar› göz önüne seriyor<br />

Lotus 49 was equipped with rear wings on stilts. Operating like<br />

an airplane wing in reverse, this design pushed the car down<br />

onto the track, creating greater grip and allowing it to corner<br />

faster. Today, the pioneering design of Lotus has been perfected.<br />

Among the F1 legends that have surely secured their places<br />

stands the MP4/4-2, used by the McLaren team in 1988. The<br />

car had been piloted by Aytron Senna and Alain Prost, winning<br />

15 out of 16 races. With its aerodynamic structure, the car<br />

allowed for superiority at taking curves. If Senna had not run<br />

into the car he was about to take over, MP4/4-2 would have<br />

become the first car ever to have won every single race of<br />

a season. F 2004, which had at least as successful a season as<br />

MP4/4-2 with 15 victories in 18 races, is the final legend of both<br />

the exhibition and the F1 world. Dubbed as Maranello’s best<br />

F1 car ever, F 2004’s specialty was minimizing faults and<br />

perfecting the overall performance. It was a redesigned, lighter<br />

and generally improved version of F2003-GA with<br />

a more uniform weight distribution.<br />

All these design stories explain the aerodynamics of the main<br />

frame and cockpit and reveal how the vehicles were perfected<br />

in time. As the Design Museum focuses on the history and<br />

technology of the sport, it also illustrates the efforts taken<br />

in order to enable a team to continue racing throughout<br />

the entire season<br />
