The publication in front of you is about to lead<br />
you in the world of experiences within project<br />
<strong>Socrates</strong> on the move, conducted in the year<br />
2000 by three leading European stu<strong>de</strong>nt associations<br />
ESIB-The National Unions of Stu<strong>de</strong>nts in<br />
Europe, AEGEE-Europe and Erasmus Stu<strong>de</strong>nts<br />
Network (ESN). Project, aiming at information<br />
providing on SOCRATES II Programme of the<br />
European Commission to stu<strong>de</strong>nts, has <strong>de</strong>veloped<br />
into more than 500 organised promotional<br />
events by stu<strong>de</strong>nts <strong>Socrates</strong> promoters all over<br />
Europe, 3 thematic regional seminars, and two<br />
statutory meetings of the informal <strong>net</strong>work of<br />
<strong>Socrates</strong> promoters: the training in Brussels in<br />
March and final conference in December in<br />
Napoli. Besi<strong>de</strong>s information providing in stu<strong>de</strong>nt<br />
tailored manner, the promoters have collected<br />
valuable information on obstacles to<br />
implementation of the <strong>Socrates</strong> programme and<br />
mobility in general; trends in mobility related<br />
also to implementation of Bologna <strong>de</strong>claration;<br />
specific information needs for certain groups of<br />
stu<strong>de</strong>nt population; and alike.<br />
This project would have not been possible without<br />
true commitment of the members of the<br />
Steering group and support of the European<br />
Commission, DG Education and Culture. Many<br />
thanks go to the experts from the Commission<br />
who have contributed to the training of <strong>Socrates</strong><br />
<strong>Promoters</strong> and especially Mr. Massimo<br />
Gaudina, responsible for the project.<br />

In hope that this publication will be able to convey<br />
to you our enthusiasm and pri<strong>de</strong> in the project’s<br />
successful realisation we also want to<br />
express our genuine motivation for its continuity.<br />
As new generations of stu<strong>de</strong>nts are entering<br />
every year our higher education institutions all<br />
over Europe we wish to continue to inform them<br />
about the possibilities and opportunities that<br />
exist for them within the <strong>Socrates</strong> II Programme.<br />
