In the year under review, Dr. Adelgunde Sengthaler,
a member of the Board of Management, decided to leave
the VP Bank Group to pursue new career opportunities.
During her almost ten years of activity in various functions
within the Group and, in particular, those years in which
she was a member of the Board of Management, she contributed
significantly to the development of the VP Bank
Group. Her activities mainly centered on the fields of asset
management and private banking, where she was committed
to achieving the highest quality. She placed similar

emphasis on nurturing client relationships. The Board of
Directors and Board of Management are extremely indebted
to Dr. Sengthaler for the valuable services she provided.
In early September 2003, Ernst Näf will succeed
Dr. Sengthaler as a member of the Board of Management
and head of the Private Clients Division. Mr. Näf brings
with him many years of experience gained in various
functions and segments within the banking industry which,
combined with his management skills and insight into
foreign financial markets, represent a solid base for the
future success of his activities on behalf of VP Bank.
