The 2013 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program Voucher Applications<br />

Are available. Monday 4/15/2103 - Applications are now available in 12 languages. GO TO:<br />

www.agingkingcounty.org/highlight_farmers_market_voucher.htm - Application period ends on MAY 31, 2013.<br />

Quick facts about the 2013 senior farmer’s market nutrition program (SFMNP) -<br />

Applications must be postmarked by May 31, 2013.<br />

Applications must be mailed to the address on the application (SFMNP, P.O. Box 24231, Seattle WA 98124-<br />

0231)<br />

Late applications NOT accepted.<br />

Limit of one application per household<br />

Applications MUST be signed<br />

Valid USPS mail address must be provided; P.O. Box addresses OK<br />

Prior year applicants must reapply each year<br />

ELIGIBILITY: 60+ years of age (55+ for Native Am/Alaskan); resident King County, income at or below 185%<br />

Federal Poverty Level.<br />

Vouchers can be used at any WIC participant farmer’s market or food store throughout Washington State. Market<br />

locations can be found at ADS website www.agingkingcounty.org/highlight_farmers_market_voucher.htm or the<br />

Washington State University Extension website<br />

NOTE: Due to the large number of applicants <strong>and</strong> an inadequate level of funding, there are not enough vouchers<br />

for everyone who applies. A r<strong>and</strong>om selection process is used to decide who will receive vouchers. Priority may<br />

be given to applicants who did not receive vouchers in 2012. Based on prior year’s data, only approximately onehalf<br />

(50%) of applicants can expect to receive vouchers in 2013.<br />

Career Masters: A Toastmasters Club Helping Each Other Reach Their Career Goals.<br />

Guests are welcome to join us at any meeting! Our club is geared towards individuals seeking a job or wanting to<br />

advance their career, <strong>and</strong> anyone who wants to improve their communication or leadership skills should come<br />

<strong>and</strong> see how our club can help! At each meeting we practice communication <strong>and</strong> leadership skills in a variety of<br />

ways. At a typical meeting, members deliver prepared speeches, practice impromptu speaking during a "Table<br />

Topics" session, <strong>and</strong> offer positive <strong>and</strong> constructive evaluations <strong>and</strong> feedback. Members take turns leading the<br />

various aspects of the meetings, <strong>and</strong> work from the Toastmasters self-paced educational manuals. The group<br />

meets every Thursday from Noon – 1 PM in Room 4096 of the Seattle Municipal Tower, 700 5 th Ave., Seattle WA.<br />
