Staff Development Programme Developing Professional Capability 01
Foreword
We are justly proud of our framework of staff development at
Salford, which is designed to reflect our goals and priorities, address
issues arising from the national higher education agenda, and to
offer opportunities for personal and professional development.
Staff development at Salford is also an integral part of our
commitment to the development of all members of the University.
We know from the feedback that we receive from staff that the
majority of you both value and gain a great deal from your
involvement in this programme. The value of this participation lies
not just in the new skills and perspectives that the sessions equip you
with, but also in the opportunities they provide to meet and share
experiences with colleagues from across the University, and to step
back and reflect in a purposeful but relaxed environment.
Today, Realising our Vision is leading us through a period of
significant and exciting organizational change. The framework of
professional and personal development this programme provides
should make a significant contribution to this change process.
I hope therefore that you will choose to participate in this year’s
programme and that the new knowledge and insights which you
acquire will serve you well both in your daily work and in taking
forward your career.
Finally, being a dynamic process, change will continue to raise new
needs that require different approaches and solutions. If you would
