Imhoff Heritage Society - St. Walburg
Culture Days at the Society

We had a very successful Culture
Days Project realized through the
documented attendance in the attendance
registers available in all 4 locations
and the positive comments
made by visitors during and after
the event: “This was so nice”. “This
was so much fun.” “I hope you will
do this again next year.”
We had a grand total of 911 visitors
altogether in all 4 of the venues,
including the 5th venue being the
Lakeland Lodge Care Home.
Imhoff Heritage Society’s Gallery
and Museum had free food, admission
and music all 3 days in their
music tent. The first day visitors
were entertained by our local band,
Joe Maiers and Friends. They did an
excellent job with their various guitars
and a violin. The next two days
there was superb entertainment by
the Little German Band from Humboldt,
SK. This was a very special
treat as the band had never played
in this part of the country and many
visitors had not heard of them. We
had a grand total of 333 visitors over
the 3 day weekend at the society.
The St.Walburg Allied Arts Council
was at the Seniors Center & Chuck
Wagon Interpretive Center.
Interactive and demonstrations of
acrylic painting and cake decorating
were held. There was also a display
of local art work.
Many youth tried their hand at cake
decorating and thoroughly enjoyed
this as did our instructor. There was
also at good turnout for Rosemarie
Stadnyk’s acrylic painting demonstrations.
The artists were satisfied
with the event.
On day two, clay building interactive
and demonstrations were done
by artist Jay Kimball. There were
many young people taking part in
building clay tiles. This was very
enjoyable to all participants as well
as to the artist.
The St.Walburg Tourism & Heritage
Society was at the Chuckwagon Interpretive
Center.
Day 2 had a display of local art work,
and interactive Saskatchewan wild
flower display for visitors to identify.
Clay building by Jay Kimball
was held here instead of the Seniors
Center as there was more space. On
day 3 there were free tours of the
chuck wagon exhibit and displays
by local artists.
St.Walburg & District Historical
Museum had free admission between
1 and 5 on Friday, Saturday
and Sunday had also free admission
all day. There were demonstrations
of antiques, including a gramophone
& a treddle sewing machine.
And the museum had a scavenger
hunt.
St.Walburg Senior’s Care Home
To provide some performing arts
culture activity for those senior residents
who were shut ins, arrangements
were made for the Lloydminstrels,
a large group of singers
from Lloydminster, to perform with
songs at this location. A total of 79
people attended the performance in
the afternoon.
