c) The force provided at the throw bar shall be a minimum of 3.1kN at nominal<br />
supply voltage with maximum thrust of not less than 4.4kN occurring at clutch<br />
slip.<br />
d) The machine shall be capable of being stopped in mid stroke by external<br />
resistance without sustaining damage.<br />
e) The machine shall be capable of completing three consecutive full stokes at a<br />
load of 3.1kN at a temperature of 60°C.<br />
f) For a rail head locking open blade, there should be 127mm clearance (±2mm)<br />
between point blade and stock rail measured at the toe of the points.<br />
g) Machine locking shall provide for a switch opening of 125mm clearance<br />
(±3mm) at the tip of the switch.<br />
4.4.4 Operating Time<br />
a) With a load of 3.1kN maximum and nominal supply voltage the throw time<br />
shall not exceed 7 seconds.<br />
4.4.5 Environmental Conditions<br />
a) The point machine shall be subject to the conditions specified for Category C<br />
equipment in specification <strong>VRIOGS</strong> 012.7.25 “Environmental Conditions”.<br />
4.4.6 Lightning and Surge Protection<br />
a) The application of the point machine shall comply to VRIOG Standard<br />
“Lightning and Surge Protection - General Requirements” <strong>VRIOGS</strong> 012.7.9.<br />
