Device Experience
It is important to understand that the device is a fluid choice in our environment. We need to continually
evaluate our choices as new devices emerge that better serve our need to meet our learning and teaching
goals. This ongoing review of the devices reinforces that we are not embarking upon a Chromebook
journey, but a 1:1 learning environment journey.
At this point, the Chromebooks have emerged as the
best device to meet our goals for learning and teaching:
critical thinking, engagement, and literacy for grades 5
and 6. Both Chromebooks and Surface R/Ts are viable
options for high school.
These devices also best serve our school-wide focus on
the technology experiences that assist us with our
learning and teaching goals:
1. Blended Learning
2. Google Experience
3. Student Involvement
