The above assistantships expect weekly eight hours <strong>of</strong> academic<br />
workload assisting in teaching or research activities <strong>of</strong> the respective<br />
departments. The continuation <strong>of</strong> the assistantship (TA/RA) will be<br />
subject to` satisfactory performance <strong>of</strong> the duties assigned by the<br />
department/centre/school as well as satisfactory academic performance.<br />
3.4 Research Assistantship (RA)<br />
The Assistantship provided for the research assistants also varies based<br />
on the educational qualification and is listed below.<br />

Research assistants have to maintain/supervise the laboratories and also<br />
assist in teaching or research or other work assigned by the Head <strong>of</strong> the<br />
department/centre/school or Convener <strong>of</strong> IDPC. They are required to<br />
work for about 16 to 20 hours a week.<br />
As per MHRD directives, the employees <strong>of</strong> any organization undergoing<br />
Ph.D./Post Graduate Programs by availing study leave with or without<br />
pay are not eligible for Teaching/Research Assistantships. Such<br />
candidates, if found suitable, will have to complete their program as<br />
self-financed/sponsored full time or part time, as the case may be.
