Service to others
Students, staff, parents and
community members of
York Elementary School
partnered with students from
Mountain View High School
(MVHS ) for a ‘Stuff the
Principal’s (York principal
Dawn Harris) Office’ food
fundraiser. The food drive
garnered three truckloads of much needed food items for
Mandy’s Pantry located at MVHS.
Wy’east Middle School recently opened the ‘Warrior
Food Pantry’ providing snacks for hungry students. Elli
Wiita, a sophomore in high school at Caitlin Gables in
Portland, lives in the Wy’east neighborhood and wanted
to help her community. With the help of a grant from
the Bud Anderson Family Foundation, Share House and
Clark County Food Bank, Wiita created the food pantry.
Teachers and councilors refer students to the pantry
for snacks like granola bars, apple sauce, and goldfish
crackers.
