On Sunday, May 21, <strong>2005</strong>, 12 Chapter members placed flags<br />

on veterans’ graves at Lake Park Cemetery <strong>in</strong> Youngstown, Ohio.<br />

The follow<strong>in</strong>g week, on Sunday, May 29, <strong>2005</strong>, at 1 p.m., the<br />

Chapter held a “Lay<strong>in</strong>g of the Roses” ceremony. As each name<br />

of the memorial was read, a red rose was placed on the memorial<br />

platform. The frist name read was Thomas Tsoukras. His<br />

mother, Thomas<strong>in</strong>e Tsoukras, is our Chapter’s only Gold Star<br />

mother. She placed the rose for her son, assisted by her daughter<br />

and Chapter member Robert Brothers. There are 122 names of<br />

<strong>Korean</strong> <strong>War</strong> casualties from Columbiana, Mahon<strong>in</strong>g, and<br />

Trumbull Counties.<br />
