Description<br />

Initializing counters and mode settings<br />

Description<br />

Initializes all settings, except those pertinent to the type of machine, namely each counter, service call history<br />

and mode setting. Also initializes backup RAM according to region specification selected in maintenance item<br />

U252 Setting the destination.<br />

Refer to *2 of the maintenance mode item list about the item initialized.<br />

Purpose<br />

To return the machine settings to their factory default.<br />

Method<br />

1. Press the start key.<br />

2. Press [EXECUTE] on the touch panel.<br />

3. Press the start key. All data other than that for adjustments due to variations between machines is initialized<br />

based on the destination setting.<br />

4. Turn the main power switch off and on.<br />

U022<br />

An error code is displayed in case of an intialization error. Refer to the table of the error codes on P.1-3-17.<br />

When ERROR 09 occurred, turn main power switch off then on, format the hard disk using maintenance<br />

item U024, and execute initialization using maintenance item U021. For other errors occurred, turn main<br />

power switch off then on, and execute initialization using maintenance item U021.<br />

Initializing backup memory<br />

Description<br />

Initializes only the backup data for image processing.<br />

Also, initializes the settings with the system menu in order to restore default settings simultaneously when<br />

[MAIN+ENGINE] is selected.<br />

Reregister the fax settings since the settings are initialized when the optional fax kit is installed.<br />

Purpose<br />

To be executed as required.<br />

Caution<br />

Run the maintenance item U411 (Adjusting the scanner automatically) after initialization the backup data of<br />

scanner PWB or DP main PWB (see page 1-3-72).<br />

Method<br />

1. Press the start key.<br />

2. Select the item to initialize.<br />

Initialize the backup data of main PWB and engine PWB.<br />

Initialize the backup data of scanner PWB.<br />

Initialize the backup data of DP main PWB.<br />

3. When selecting [MAIN+ENGINE], select the destination.<br />
