The Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus AG brewery has secured the naming rights to the 2.8 hectare <strong>Messe</strong> <strong>Stuttgart</strong> park.<br />

Marketing partner of <strong>Messe</strong> <strong>Stuttgart</strong>: Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus AG.<br />
Communication axis, green lung: From<br />
the very beginning, the 2.8 hectare green<br />
space between the halls at <strong>Messe</strong> <strong>Stuttgart</strong><br />
has had numerous functions, but<br />
only one name: Rothaus-Park, after the<br />
marketing partner of <strong>Messe</strong> <strong>Stuttgart</strong>,<br />
the Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus AG<br />
brewery in the Black Forest. By acquiring<br />
the naming rights, the traditional company,<br />
founded in 1922 as a public limited<br />
company, showed from the very beginning<br />
its commitment to the new location<br />
of <strong>Messe</strong> <strong>Stuttgart</strong>, thus actively<br />
supporting the trade fair company in the<br />
development of innovative financing<br />
models. At Rothaus, which is owned by<br />
an investment company belonging to the<br />
state of Baden-Württemberg, great importance<br />
has always been attached to<br />
proximity to nature in other respects<br />
too. The brewing water for the various<br />
beers still comes from the seven sources<br />
owned by the company itself. Management<br />
of the company was recently taken<br />
over by Christian Rasch, previously the<br />
Spokesman for the Board of Manage-<br />
ment at <strong>Stuttgart</strong>er Hofbräu AG. Since<br />
1956 the classics in the current range of<br />
Rothaus beers have included Rothaus<br />
Pils, which is particularly popular in<br />
the 0.33 litre bottle known as “Tannenzäpfle”.<br />
It was the first beer from Rothaus<br />
with the label showing the Black<br />
Forest maiden holding two glasses of<br />
beer. Incidentally, Rothaus fans have<br />
given the lady the fictitious name of<br />
Birgit Kraft, based on the saying in<br />
Alemannic dialect “Bier git (= gibt)<br />
Kraft”, or “beer gives strength”.<br />
