<strong>Nursing</strong><br />
Flanked by state legislators and state<br />
healthcare administrators, Governor Edward<br />
Rendell signed into law the first Prescription<br />
for <strong>Pennsylvania</strong> healthcare reform bills<br />
at the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong> on July 20. Among<br />
the bills Governor Rendell signed in front<br />
<strong>of</strong> a boisterous crowd <strong>of</strong> honored guests,<br />
including deans <strong>of</strong> schools <strong>of</strong> nursing,<br />
nurses, midwives, students, faculty, and staff,<br />
were House Bills 1253, 1254, and 1255,<br />
which expand the scope <strong>of</strong> practice for<br />
certified nurse practitioners, clinical nurse<br />
specialists, and nurse midwives.<br />
