AFL-CIO Labor Day Picnic 2012
Even the rain couldn’t keep union activists from
celebrating American workers during the 26 th AFL-CIO
Labor Day Picnic at Coney Island in Cincinnati. OCSEA
District 2 and Hamilton-Clermont Chapter 310 leaders reached out
about Get Out the Vote activities and registered community members
to vote. The picnic featured music, games and face-painting for
union families, along with plenty of political and labor activities.

Union Night at the Crew!
OCSEA members and
their families ended
the summer with a
bang at Union Night with the
Columbus Crew on Sept. 29.
The Columbus Major League
soccer team took advantage
of its game against the MLS
Philadelphia Union to honor
Ohio union workers, including
OCSEA members and others
from the Ohio AFL-CIO.
Nicknamed “America’s
Hardest Working Team,” the
Crew said they held the event
to “make sure that we are taking
care of America’s hardest working
people.” The event included
special ticket prices, reserved
seating and events for union
families.
The first 100 OCSEA
ticket holders received
a green Solidarity foam
finger with the slogan
“Unions: the folks who
brought you the weekend.”
