A native of Missouri, Anne Dawson<br />

received the Bachelor of <strong>Music</strong><br />

Education degree from Truman<br />

State University (formerly Northeast<br />

Missouri State University,) in Kirksville,<br />

Missouri, and the Master of <strong>Music</strong><br />

degree in Vocal Performance from<br />

the University of <strong>Oklahoma</strong>. Dawson<br />

is in her twenty-second year as the<br />

Vocal <strong>Music</strong> Director at Westmoore<br />

High School, where she directs six<br />

performing groups, (Chamber Choir,<br />

Concert Choir, Women’s Choir,<br />

Freshman Choir, Show Choir, and<br />

Chamber Singers,) teaches Advanced<br />

Placement <strong>Music</strong> Theory, and is a<br />

sponsor for the junior class. Prior to<br />

assuming her position at Westmoore,<br />

she team- taught junior high and<br />

high school vocal music with John<br />

Gerber at Weatherford Public Schools.<br />

Dawson has adjudicated district and<br />

state music festivals in <strong>Oklahoma</strong> and<br />

Missouri. In addition to her position<br />

at Westmoore, she held the office of<br />

OMEA All-State Mixed Chorus Chair<br />

for the 2010-2011 school year. She<br />

has served on the choral faculty of<br />

the <strong>Oklahoma</strong> Arts Institute and the<br />

Canterbury Choral Society Board of<br />

Directors, and is a member of the<br />

Dr. Darla Eshelman has been a music<br />

educator for thirty–two years, and over<br />

half of those have been in <strong>Oklahoma</strong>.<br />

She is currently is Associate Professor<br />

of <strong>Music</strong> Education and Program<br />

Coordinator for the Vocal <strong>Music</strong><br />

Education degree at UCO, where she<br />

has been on the faculty since 2009.<br />

She teaches undergraduate and<br />

graduate courses in music education,<br />

supervises student teachers, and<br />

conducts Cantilena, the university<br />

women’s chorus. She is the founder<br />

and director for the Young Choirs<br />

of Central <strong>Oklahoma</strong>, a community<br />

based weekly choral program for<br />

students in grades five to nine. In<br />

addition to community, state, regional<br />

and national performing, these<br />

young choirs also provide weekly<br />

lab experience for UCO vocal music<br />

education majors.<br />

Eshelman’s passion is training<br />

future music educators. She truly<br />

enjoys watching the growth of her<br />

students from the time they enter<br />

college as freshmen, through student<br />

teaching, and then later in their<br />

own classrooms. She is also an<br />

active choral music composer, with<br />

a variety of published works. Her<br />

Jackie Gilley is a native of Stratford,<br />

Texas, and was the band director at<br />

Monroney Middle School in Midwest<br />

City, for twenty–nine years. She also<br />

taught color guard at Midwest City<br />

HS for eighteen years. Her first job<br />

was in Miami, Texas, teaching art,<br />

band, and yearbook. Jackie received<br />

her Bachelor of Arts degree in<br />

Ceramics and her Masters of <strong>Music</strong><br />

Education degree from Southwestern<br />

<strong>Oklahoma</strong> State University. She is also<br />

accredited in Secondary Education<br />

Administration from the University of<br />

Central <strong>Oklahoma</strong>.<br />

Gilley earned accreditation in 2002<br />

as a “National Certified Teacher” in<br />

Instrumental <strong>Music</strong>, and she was<br />

also Monroney Teacher of the Year<br />

in 1992 and 2003. In 20<strong>12</strong>, Jackie<br />

was inducted into the <strong>Oklahoma</strong><br />

Bandmasters Association Hall of<br />

Fame. She is past president of<br />

the Beta Chapter of Phi Beta Mu<br />

International Bandmasters Fraternity<br />

and also a member of OMEA, OBA,<br />

MENC, and WIBDA.<br />

Gilley is well known as an adjudicator<br />

throughout the United States. She<br />

has been an adjudicator for Winter<br />

Guard International, Drum Corps<br />
