Information
Preregistration for the January In–Service Conference
is available on line. There is a link for preregistration on
the OMEA web site: www.okmea.org. Make sure you
preregister by January 7, 2013. For online preregistration,
use Visa, Mastercard or Discover credit cards. To
preregister by check or purchase order, mail with a
remittance envelope to: OMEA Registration; 636 Bacone
St; Muskogee, OK 74403. For registration with purchase
orders, use the remittance envelope.
This year, as in the past, there is one hotel for the music
conference and two festival hotels for the high school
all–state students. Following is a list of the hotels with
reservation details:
DoubleTree (Downtown) – Conference Hotel ($105.00)

Complete the dates and preferences section.
Click on: Add special rate codes.
Enter MEA in the group code section then click on Check
Availability.
After completing the reservation, a confirmation number
will be emailed to you.

On the left side of the screen, enter the check–in and

Shuttle transportation will be available throughout the
conference every fifteen minutes at both the Downtown
DoubleTree Hotel and The Hyatt Regency. All–State
Students will have a special shuttle schedule listed in the
convention program from the Courtyard Marriott to the
Hyatt Regency. These busses will shuttle to rehearsals
beginning an hour prior to morning and evening rehearsals.
This is a reminder that there will be a luncheon on
Thursday noon for Retired Oklahoma Music Teachers
and Past Presidents. Email Janis Dawson at jdi12sing1@

Other meals and receptions throughout the workshop are
listed in this issue of the Oklahoma Music.
This year’s Keynote Speaker will be Tim Lautzenheiser.
He is definitely not a stranger to Oklahoma, as he has
been our Keynoter and clinician for a number of OMEA and
OBA Conferences in Oklahoma. Lautzenheiser is not only
an outstanding speaker, but he is also a teacher, clinician,
author, composer, consultant and adjudicator. His career
also includes ten years as a successful band director at
Northern Michigan University, University of Missouri, and
New Mexico State University. During his career, Tim has
developed highly acclaimed groups in all areas of the
instrumental and vocal field.
