Information<br />

Preregistration for the January In–Service Conference<br />

is available on line. There is a link for preregistration on<br />

the OMEA web site: www.okmea.org. Make sure you<br />

preregister by January 7, 20<strong>13</strong>. For online preregistration,<br />

use Visa, Mastercard or Discover credit cards. To<br />

preregister by check or purchase order, mail with a<br />

remittance envelope to: OMEA Registration; 636 Bacone<br />

St; Muskogee, OK 74403. For registration with purchase<br />

orders, use the remittance envelope.<br />

This year, as in the past, there is one hotel for the music<br />

conference and two festival hotels for the high school<br />

all–state students. Following is a list of the hotels with<br />

reservation details:<br />

DoubleTree (Downtown) – Conference Hotel ($105.00)<br />

Log in to: www.tulsadowntown.DoubleTree.com.<br />

Complete the dates and preferences section.<br />

Click on: Add special rate codes.<br />

Enter MEA in the group code section then click on Check<br />

Availability.<br />

After completing the reservation, a confirmation number<br />

will be emailed to you.<br />

Shuttle transportation will be available throughout the<br />

conference every fifteen minutes at both the Downtown<br />

DoubleTree Hotel and The Hyatt Regency. All–State<br />

Students will have a special shuttle schedule listed in the<br />

convention program from the Courtyard Marriott to the<br />

Hyatt Regency. These busses will shuttle to rehearsals<br />

beginning an hour prior to morning and evening rehearsals.<br />

This is a reminder that there will be a luncheon on<br />

Thursday noon for Retired <strong>Oklahoma</strong> <strong>Music</strong> Teachers<br />

and Past Presidents. Email Janis Dawson at jdi<strong>12</strong>sing1@<br />

cox.net for reservations.<br />

Other meals and receptions throughout the workshop are<br />

listed in this issue of the <strong>Oklahoma</strong> <strong>Music</strong>.<br />

This year’s Keynote Speaker will be Tim Lautzenheiser.<br />

He is definitely not a stranger to <strong>Oklahoma</strong>, as he has<br />

been our Keynoter and clinician for a number of OMEA and<br />

OBA Conferences in <strong>Oklahoma</strong>. Lautzenheiser is not only<br />

an outstanding speaker, but he is also a teacher, clinician,<br />

author, composer, consultant and adjudicator. His career<br />

also includes ten years as a successful band director at<br />

Northern Michigan University, University of Missouri, and<br />

New Mexico State University. During his career, Tim has<br />

developed highly acclaimed groups in all areas of the<br />

instrumental and vocal field.<br />
